Just try to imagine what the folks who had a cat like that would look like?
Strangely, I have had people ask me about some weird, drunken cat with a funky tail they'd found in their yard. Needless to say, it was a little pouched feline. I used to have one that lived in our garage. In a bag of potting soil. Or in a drawer. Not very pleasant to open a drawer and have that jump at you, hissing, let alone plunge your bare hand into a back of potting soil and feel fur and a nasty tail. BRRRRRR. |

He doesn't look much like a cat. You'd have to be pretty ignorant about cats NOT to know the difference, so I'm guessing it's a joke.

Except the first time I saw a possem, it was late at night... and we had feral kitties at College... and some of them were ohmygod huge... so...............

well he gots ears and a nose and claws and a funny long tail but to me they look like big evil ugly rats.

The nice thing abut possums is that they look fierce, but hardly ever bite. In order to be bitten by one you practically have to put your hand in their mouth and use your other hand to close it's mouth.
