My troupe and I performed yesterday at a little Country Fair..... Honestly my girls performed extremely well! I'm very proud of them they take what I say and place it in their bodies.... Always got to chuckle about the Hours & Hours & Hours & Hours of practice that go into every performance...... Sometimes I wonder if it's not about all the time in prep......
In other life news the all day nauseau & Pukey that is often mistermed 'Morning Sickness' has subsided and I feel really good again... My tummy is getting weird cramps but I hear that's normal since my belly is rearranging and making room for the baby....

Dancer Ponderins Choreography vs in the moment

O.k. so this is something I've been wondering and maybe your thoughts can shed some light..... As Dancers we constantly train and practice to be in the Moment and Flexible.... So why do we spend so much time on choreography? And how does choreography help us be in the moment... I realize choreography can help our flexibility and can help us really learn to master some complicated moves....This is just a thought I have had and wondering if anyone can help me shed some light on this this....
and then there is improv where youreally have to be on your toes and completely over alive to master these moments at every turn....
Choreography for a troupe is necessary yet you must work to breathe life into the choreography because it is too easy to just go thru the movements knowing there is X amount of women on stage with you... o.k. wondering as to your thoughts...

O.k...... So there seems to be a small army of carpenter ants trying to invade my brand new home...... To be honest there is a crack on the caulking for the tiles in the kitchen... and I believe they are coming out of that... I am going to the hardware store to buy somemore and hopefully seal ther Little Fuckers off..... However as we all know ants are persistent..... I am not the cleanest home keeper in the world However I am Seriously stepping up my cleanliness because I know I need to remove temptation from them.....
I tried the Cayenne Pepper trick and it does not work they are walking across the Cayenne pepper

Does anyone have any advice on how to keep these little F'ers out of my house.... I'm cool with Ants outside but they do not belong in my kitchen.... I love to make Hearty Home Made Meals in my kitchen and those meals do not include squished ant guts.....
Thanx for the advice

Spring Cleaning has hit and I ran across a postcard of Marilyn Monroe I had bought for my grandfather..... Wrote him a quick note never mailed it and he died two years ago..... He loved the Marilyn Monroe poster i had bought him for Christmas.... He told me in his day she was the Hottest of the HOT .... and she still is..... How can one not just adore her as a diva and man did she know how to light up to a camera.....
I have also ran across the last letter my g-pa wrote to me... Till the end he was a honry old man... he was upset because I told his doctor he didn't excercise enough, did not eat that healthy... and in the drive down I kept the window cracked because he smoked like a chimney;)
I ran across another letter with him letting me know I was his favorite grandaughter.....
next time we meet in person ask me about his reaction to a BellyDance Video of me I brought for him to see......

Politicians of Wyoming, Idaho & Montana hearts's have turned to the Dark Side w/ Dick Cheney.......

Wyoming, Montana & Idaho are all planning to allow open hunting season on Wolves..... Animals that in 1973 were palced onto the Endangered Species List and have just been taken off.... Well who needs them damn Wolves anyway..... Shit for that matter who needs Nature anyway.... Farmers will merely have to claim a wolf was harrassing their Livestock to shoot a Wolf down...... As we all know Sheeps, Cows, Chickens and People are soooooooo Endangered..... As we all know Americans need to Eat more Red Meat Anyway..... I love Nature and I love Animals.... So if this Pisses you off the way it pisses me off you can read more here:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23856723
EarthJustice, The Human Society and 10 other Organizations are in a Lawsuit to help keep Rocky Mountain Wolves Protected.
All you have to do is a little Research to know that Wolf Packs do not go after the Prize Game Animals people do.... Wolves go after the weak, young, old and sick when on a hunt..... it is easier to hunt down a injured or slow animal rather than a fully Robust animal it takes way more energy....... Wolves are actually quite shy and intelligent Creatures Unfortunately the Politicians of Wyoming,Idaho & Montana most probably have never studied Ecology.... they only know Americans eat Red meat and use Oil.... therefore we must destroy all that is in our way... wether Wolves are really a menace or if it is just in their heads.....
While I'm going off..... O.k. so if Wolves do destroy some LiveStock...... However LiveStock cause quite a bit of Ecological Damage themselves...... Ever lived DownStream of a overcroweded Ranch? Water quality goes down from all the LiveStock poop..... Bacteria count goes up, Ammonia count goes up..... I bet all the salmon babies working their way to the Ocean Appreciate that (if they manage to survive) What about the damage to the edge of streams cows do?
Let's face it Wolves taking down a few Cows every year..... Big F'in Deal.......

I know there are a lot of creative and aware peeps out there and I am wondering what type of ideas people have to cut their own personal footprint and help this planet stay healthy.... I would love to see as many comments as possible and a super long list...... Here are some of the goodies I do......

1) I bring my own to go containers to restaurants (I love to eat leftovers but feel extremely guilty about to go containers) styrofoam does not break down and paper was once a living being and let's face it who doesn't have a ridiculous amount of plastic containers in their kitchen
2) Re-Usable Coffee Mug
3) Shade Grown Coffee (organic prefered) shade grown tastes better (IMO) Shade Grown is where the farmers work to keep the plantation in a native forest setting..... so the ecology is more like that of the original forest where it can support a variety of life even tho they are working to grow coffee and let's face it as Americans we love our coffee
4) I have personally cut down my driving a ton lately...... and am realizing everything I need is in my own home and backyard it's all in how I view the world
5) Pick up litter and recyclables off the street / or on hikes
6) I Plant trees / volunteer with the Stilly Snohomish Task Force a local organization to help protect / enhance wetlands in Snohomish County
7) Simply appreciate nature and trees I take time to look at the beauty of trees and think how lucky we are to live amongst such beauty
8) When in college I stopped buying paper and would go thru the recycle bins for paper that had only been used on one side.... and I continue to do that today;) Get a hole punch a binder and re-use one sided paper
9) I work to eat simply, when I cook I buy whole foods such as potatoes, vegetables I figure the simpler the foods the less work/energy went into them and let's face it the simpler the food the healthier for our bodies...
10) I've been going thru my stuff and seeing what I can donate / give away to others
11) !compost! Best stuff ever! I work part time at a cafe and I helped to organize a way for the cafe leftovers to go to a farm
O.K. There's a few goodies I do and others may or may not have thought of..... I'd love to hear what your idears are and incorporate them into my life..... Thanx in Advance!

Haha all my dancing girlfriends (and boyz) will love this. So I started a project I cut out letters that say "Hillary 4 Prez' and started hand sewing them onto a pair of dance pants a few nights ago. As with most projects of mine I got half way done and have not finished yet. Well I needed some pants to teach and practice in yesterday so I grabbed the pants that say Hill on one pant leg and off to teach 3 classes yesterday and some practice when I got done...... And mind you I was doing cartwheels and bellydancing, yoga and pilates..... So this morning I wake up and want to practice... so I pu on the pants..... first I decided to read my -tarot- cards..... as I am sitting reading the cards... I hear something hit the ground... make a small noise.... it is a needle.... I danced all yesterday with a needle still attached to a string that has not been cut yet.... ITotally makes me laugh

O.k.... I just have to say I am going to vote for Hilary Clinton regardless of wether she is the front runner or if I have to write her name in come November..... I believe in her she's hard working and smart..... Ever since she wrote the Book 'It takes a Village" this women realizes we have to be a community of humans I've heard she truly works to smooth tiffs out with her enemies in the Senate she was able to work with peeps on other sides because she works to understand her enemies.... Obama has not even completed 1 term in the Senate... Let the man sign up for his job and do at least one term to really understand what this country needs.... My friends say Hilary is too corporate but I say show me a Politician -who truly has a chance at winning- who is not corporate... that's just part of the job...
So I just had to hop online and get on my soapbox and say I truly believe in Hilary Clinton and I truly believe she should be our next President...

Well Samhain and El Di'a de la Muerte has come and gone.... I buried a pomegranate in honor of my grandfather may he rest in peace and continue on to whatever is next for him...... the weather is getting cold but it has been beautiful around here. My puppy is learning how to behave in society. Yes even I have rules as someday it is my hope I can walk with her in public and take her to MedFest without her jumping on everyone and destroying all the merchandise. I have reached a point in my life where I work daily but do not feel stressed I just keep going. I have been dancing, practicing, yogaing and teaching regularly.... I love it! I have started to pamper my feet daily massage, kiniesology & lotion every night..... and have purchased the best tarot cards ever (I now have 6 decks) My latest is the Buckland Romani Tarot cards.... and am able to look, ground myself and open up to what they are telling me..... My reading last night said to listen to animals / plants as they can see what we can not in our busy lives and if I can make it through a period of people stabbing at me I will come through elated and dancing with joy and will figure out and work out any issues I may have with female friends (and I know I'm not the only one who needs to work on that;) The Heirophant has come up in my last 3 readings... Last year at this time I kept getting the Tower..... One of my students encouraged me to research chakras more I truly wonder if some people have problems moving certain parts of their body because of past traumas to getting stuck with certain chakras...... Found some really good Chantrelles & Coral Mushrooms yum yum yum! Anyway that is what I've been up to when not cooking or cleaning for my sweetie;)

my puppy thinks she is a hunter dog and has been trying to fish the poor dying salmon out of the Stillaguamish River in Darrington. I would not be concerned except I'm not sure if they have spawned or not.... I think they have but would hate for my puppy to be what prevented the poor creatures from dying before they laid their eggs. It's really the ultimate sacrifice to think of all salmon have to go through how most of their family will be caught by animals, fishers, or simply not make it...... all to have babies...... Quite a tragedy..... the other day my pup accomplished her mission and was catching salmon out of the water but not hurting them merely laying them down by the water and runnng back in... so at one point I was getting all wet trying to save salmon that had come back to the river to die....

I love living by the Stillaguamish River near Darrington. Right now though I can't be home because the river is flooding.... it's amazing how a river that can normally be walked across and get you wet up to your waist is now 100-150 feet wide and 12-14 feet high with water just gushing down the force blows me away I watched full sized grown trees floating down the water. I love the force that water has it can be so tranquil and lovely and yet such a force ..... Just a few days ago I was able to watch the salmon as they tried to figure out where to lay their eggs I'm sure they have been washed away by now.... I love fall....

fireweed

I was hiking a few days ago with my new puppy and on the way back I saaw all the fireweed it's all white and poofy on top now. Normally I don't like fireweed because it takes over in places of clearcutting and I it's a invasive species but that day I felt I needed to stop and collect some fireweed Something about the essence of fireweed I need in my life now. During summer fireweed has all these beautiful purple flowers on it the plant just continues to grow taller and taller thru the summer as it reaches up towards the rays of the sun and shows off the purple flowers for bees to come and collect nectar. Nowadays iin the fall the flowers of the fireweed change from purple to white willowy almost like that of a dandelion about to scatter on some perfectly formed lawn...... And to my excitemement I read the other day that Native Americans would collect the wispys of the fireweed and stuff blankets and pillows with it..... So I'm happy to say that I have now discovered a natural stuffing.... Yet one more way that nature will provide for us.....
