Cologne & Smoke
linger in my bedroom
leftover and embedded
in the clothes on my floor
They wait
for the wash
but I resist
enjoying
the comfort of their mingled
scents...

A Special Bond
by Rae Scales
Even though we have never met,
I feel a bond between us.
A bond that should have taken years to build,
Yet was built in a month or two.
A bond that lifelong friends should have,
Although most never do.
A bond that I am glad to share with you...
My Friend and Confidant.
You are not here in body and soul,
But as a lighted rectangle.
You come to me every day as
A message on my screen,
A message that I can rely on
To cheer me up and make my day.
Through a keyboard we share
Our ups and downs.
I have opened my inner self to you,
And you have to me as well.
We have traded secrets and laughs,
As well as sorrows and pain.
I have never met you, but feel as if
I have known you most of my life.
To most this might sound silly,
But I assure them, it is not.
Love you, darling!

Clare's on my list of women that make me wistfully regretful that I'm not a lesbian. She is funny and sweet and of a happy disposition, which is just my sort of friend!

Clare adds herself to the list of remarkably beautiful women who are even better behind the lens of a camera than in front of it. Looking at her, that's saying something. She combines a wonderful eye with a quick shutter-finger that lets her capture moments while the rest of us are capturing snapshots.
Combine this with a terrific culinary sense and the fact that she's just about as wonderfully goofy as they come and you have someone very very remarkable.
The eyes? Let me tell you about the eyes. You want to know how beautiful her eyes are? They can take your mind off of oggling her figure, *that's* how beautiful her eyes are.

Clare has found the secret of GREAT photography - looking for the right angels, using light when its barely there and knowing how to choose her subjects wisely. One can look at her style and see there is a marked difference from what she has produced in the past and this year at Southern. She had a lock on her talent and has found the key. Very nice dear Clare, very nice indeed.

Take a whirlwind, add the bubbly laughter of a child (throw in one good snort for fun) and place it in the middle of a clear, deep lake. That is Clare. She is just everywhere at all times (more so than me and that is saying something) always full of this energy that can only be described as intense (good intense but intense) and yet when she thinks you are not looking she reveals this side that is deep, calm and soothing to the soul.
What a great bunch of stuff that is wrapped in a very pretty package (I hate you...grow a blemish or something fortheloveofpete!).
Besides that she snorts when she gets over the top with laughter...and how cool is that?!

When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouths.

I've been asleep for a while now
You tucked me in just like a child now
Cause every time you hold me in your arms
I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth
It starts in my soul
And I lose all control
When you kiss my nose
The feelin shows
Cause you make me smile
Baby just take your time now
Holdin me tight

My Pops likes meat.
My Pops likes to cook meat.
He also, likes to smoke meat.
My Pops makes the best ribs. They are never quiet the same ribs twice, mind you, but they are always the best ones I've ever had. The ribs with a touch of curry were out of this world.
I always know when it's heading up to rib time.
He takes any and all left over tomato based sauces and starts boiling them down for homemade BBQ. Any bottle of condiment that has gotten lo...

Disclaimer: Anyone telling me that motorcycles are bad will get a wet willie the next time I see them. My Daddy was a motorcycle dealer, the first time I was on a bike was when I was about 5. The fact that The Boy(tm) has a motorcycle.. and asked if I wanted to ride "bitch" made my heart pitter patter.. So, on with the story.
I crunched.. there we were coming back from the Asian Food Store.. I lurve that place... we picked...

about me
Clare spent her formative years as a gutter busker in the streets of Paris. Although covered in grime and stench, she was cute as a button with a sparkle in her eye, and was able to eke out a living by sleeping in the Champs Elysees and begging for day-old croissants.
At the age of 17, she was "discovered" by a rambunctious American named C. Crumbley, who, charmed by her indominable will, whisked her off to sunny Bakersfield. Although she now had a roof over her head and fresh bread every day, Clare soon became bored with the sedentary life that C. provided. Unable to take it any longer, she tearfully left him a note on the mantel, on which was written: "Bitten by the travel bug. Please don't follow."
Clare traveled for many months, following her star, or when it was cloudy, following the road. She eventually landed at the Renaissance Faire in Devore, where her Parisian background served her well. She was able to fit in with anyone, anywhere, bringing laughter wherever she went. Finally, finally, she had found a home. Oddly enough, she never learned to speak French." -Madge
