The Republican and Democratic parties
represent the Right and Left Wings of the Same Bird of Prey. This economic intervention is to recession, what our foreign intervention is to terrorism. To sit back and just balk the system and to implement no new or practical ways of changing things is just as much a part of maintaining the system as taking part in it. It's always easy for us to sit back and say "that sucks" or to say "either choice is wrong for my ideas" but what are you really gonna do about it?
Dub, I understand where you are coming and used to share the whole "Fuck the System" attitude when I asked myself a very basic question, "Do I have a better way of doing things?" If i had a chance to reshape America to whatever type of government that i wished (and no matter what we NEED government of some form) what would I put in its place? Most likely the same things that we are dealing with now, some form of democracy much like we have today. The reality of it is that there is absolutely no way to work outside of the system unless you want to move into a mountain shack and live off the land and even then it's our society that even makes that option available to you. You say that the Left and Right are wings of the same bird of prey. True, and as they should be because they are of the same government and it is thru this system that the right and left come into power, but that bird of prey that you speak of is the American people, you and me. The Right and Left don't come from some foreign place out to destroy us that bird of prey is us! Has the government pacified you or have you pacified yourself by turning your back on the whole system? Does your stance empower you or does have you taken your own power away thru apathy? We, as a nation, cannot ever afford to just turn our back on the system and the powers that be because if we do then we really have lost all of our rights and then the real danger begins. Blasted. I have to leave, so I can't write right now. But I am dying to pow-wow with you and spill my guts. We'll need a couple hours though.
Basically, we all want the same things - all the good things - peace, prosperity, freedom, etc. My mission is to show my fellow human beings that our current system is leading us further from them, not closer to them. |

Yeah, You and I need a pot of coffee, a couple of podiums, and a few hours to go over our views of what's wrong with the ole US of A. I was in the middle if my response to you when I had to run to class and then finish it up the next day.
I love political debating with smort people. Reminds me of holiday dinners with my family. |
