Today I was at my desk and triumphantly doing my wookee roar, which I do oh so well after solving a system issue that was giving me hives for the past few days. I get email from a user who is in dire need of an upgraded PC and requested me to get her a writing tablet and stylus for her. She’s a nice fun gal but in the middle of one of my most triumphant wookee roars I get an email with a single word, and the chain of conversations begins. Me: <Wookee roars at my desk> Email from User: LOSER!! My response: Oh an attitude like that will NOT get you a new PC! Now go and write a 5 page paper titled "Why I love Han Solo". User: GIVE ME MY COMPUTER PC NERD! Me: USER! A computer IS a pc! User: THE CLOCK IS TICKING …No tablet…no computer… Me: And no 5 page paper on why you Luv Luv Han Solo! I’ll get her updated system tomorrow and her tablet is on back order. All HAIL I.T. !!

A man was walking down the beach of his life and God was walking next to him. The man looked down in the sand and saw throughout his life there were another set of footsteps next to him. The man looked to God and asked him where the other set of footsteps were from? God replied, “Those are my footsteps next to you.” The man looked and saw that God’s footsteps where next to him his whole life, but in times of his life where things were the hardest there were only one set of footsteps in the sand. The man angrily turned to God and said, “Why did you abandon me when things were the hardest? My Sunday nights dream

I can fly in my dreams... I've been able to do it for years now. I remember when I started to fly when i was in my teens. At first, all I could do was kind of fall/glide several inches off the ground. Then, I would progress higher and higher off the ground till a fear of heights would trick me into a fall and I would have to wake up but with dreams and years i got better and more confident. Now, in my dreams I soar over rooftops, my arms either by my side outstretched like wings or in my typical superman double fist in front of me pose. I remember a short time in my flying training I would slowly flap my arms or angle myself with cupped hands to gain elevation, but I've outgrown that. In every dream that I can fly, which is all of them now, I get a little better and better. I've progressed and grown into a champion flier and Sunday I accomplished another new level of flying. Intense acceleration!! WOOOOSHHHH!!!! I was dreaming that I was in a soda shop on some school campus, I believe that there were zombies or vampires or something terrorizing the school and the ice cream in the soda shop and I REALLY wanted a vanilla malted. All the people in the shop were too scared to go and get the buckets of ice cream from the freezer that where all the way across the school (for some reason). From the middle of the soda shop I lifted into the air and floated up threw the skylight. (told yay I was good at flying!) I could see the scary what-evers wandering around the school grounds from my safe spot in the sky. Then I started to glide off to get the ice cream and then all of a sudden WOOSSHH!!! The freezers where kept deep in the school and i flew at top speed into a third floor window and in quick succession, left turn right turn right trun left left left down the stairs and into the basement. All of it with the sound of wind rushing over me and chilling my skin. Nothing has ever felt more natural to me! I love flying in my dreams and I hope one day to master space travel with it and go to other worlds, but I've always been aware of the kind of distances that I would have to cover. Now that I have that speed thing nearly licked I might be able to accomplish this next.

can't sleep

Over the past few days it seems like I'm having a harder and harder time getting to sleep. I'll finally get home after a long day of work then school and depending on the night, a trip to the bar for a pint or two. I drag my sorry ass in, ragged and dog tired, at near or past my bed time and fall into my futon. Ten minutes later I'm spending the next few hours staring at the back of my eyelids, my mind racing in a tumbling spiral of what not. can't sleep can't sleep I try to convince myself that if I just lay here long enough I'll eventually drift off into sweet slumber. the excelsior wind blows outside my window and beats on the glass like a soft cat begging to come in. My mind hums back at me tossing and turning over my day and things that I need to do, but there's nothing I can do about them now. As if spring loaded, my eyes snap open with a near audible crack and i can feel the restlessness running up and down my body. I feel like a bow string, taught and at the ready. can't sleep can't sleep I take double doses of melatonin, have glass of wine/beer, and/or maybe smoke a bowl. nothing seems to help these episodes of profound restlessness. I remember my record of staring at the back of my eyes; four hours. four hours of just trying to lay still and relax. four hours of controlled breathing. four hours of inactivity. can't sleep can't sleep I'm off to try again. I've had a glass of wine and watched a bit of TV while typing this and my eyes don't even feel in the least bit red. I just want to lay down and get some sleep so I can be ready for my day.

Rate of change of momentum is proportional to the resultant force producing it and takes place in the direction of that force. 3. To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. but what about us? If these laws apply to the subatomic and atomic then will not this same behavior reflect upon the larger form when its component material is reactive to these laws? I think that there might be a connection between molecular or even particle physics to much larger systems like sociology and psychology. We are comprised of smaller and smaller components that have observed behavior. A bottle made of glass will always behave like glass no matter how small you smash it though a bottle and glass bears little resembles in it smaller form.

Gary Gygax, Dungeons & Dragons creator, dies

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (AP) -- Gary Gygax, who co-created the fantasy game Dungeons & Dragons and helped start the role-playing phenomenon, died Tuesday morning at his home in Lake Geneva. He was 69. He had been suffering from health problems for several years, including an abdominal aneurysm, said his wife, Gail Gygax. Gygax and Dave Arneson developed Dungeons & Dragons in 1974 using medieval characters and mythical creatures. The game known for its oddly shaped dice became a hit, particularly among teenage boys, and eventually was turned into video games, books and movies. Gygax always enjoyed hearing from the game's legion of devoted fans, many of whom would stop by the family's home in Lake Geneva, about 55 miles southwest of Milwaukee, his wife said. Despite his declining health, he hosted weekly games of Dungeons & Dragons as recently as January, she said. "It really meant a lot to him to hear from people from over the years about how he helped them become a doctor, a lawyer, a policeman, what he gave them," Gygax said. "He really enjoyed that." Dungeons & Dragons players create fictional characters and carry out their adventures with the help of complicated rules. The quintessential geek pastime, it spawned a wealth of copycat games and later inspired a whole genre of computer games that's still growing in popularity. Funeral arrangements are pending. Besides his wife, Gygax is survived by six children.

Useless superpower

The other day I was sitting next to my roommate and I asked one of my favorite questions. If you could have a useless superpower what would it be? Whenever I ask this question I always have to tell what mine would be just so they know what the parameters of a "useless" power would be. Like, my useless superpower would be that whenever I threw a pose a flash would come out of nowhere and polaroid shot would drop out of thin air! *POOF* Or I recently caught another great useless superpower off of a TacoBell commercial which cracked me up. If I give "the wink" to a girl a whip crack sound effect would go off! *WipPahh!* That would rock! What would your useless superpower be?
