According to the Chronicle this building was constructed around 1910, and has been covered up (until a few weeks ago when the building next to it was knocked down) since about 1920.

so I'm going to NYC on Thursday with three girlfriends and need some food advice. I have been to NY before but the other 3 haven't. I am totally into restaurants but unfortunately I don't think the rest of the girls are really....so, I am looking for recommendations for some good, fun, yet relatively inexpensive restaurants that I can suggest so we don't end up eating at Papaya Dog every fucking day we're there! (my friend saw it on Food NEtwork and got all excited-I don't blame her but sheesh there is more to New York than THAT!) I don't care what neighborhood.
