my friend ~
comrade in run and gun imagery, stilt walking, trash talking, arm wrestling, drum beating, brain breathing, ever changing, laughter and quiet the same. thank you for always stretching with me and widening my sight. you are beautiful from the spark in your dark brown eyes all the way thru to the warm consideration always present in your heart. i am lucky to hold you close no matter where you are wandering... we are family. xx.

thoughts on thinking

looking for a place to live. maybe even to buy. to live.
searching the landscape of chicago.
desiring something raw lofty and creative.
if anyone knows anyone. who is looking to give. to offer. to sell. to rent.
send the message on the wings of internet love.
namaste. mahalo. gracias.

DREAM OF THE LANGUAGE WHEEL
by Tom Robbins

Ancient elf bones
stewing in the rain,
Angels the size of fruitflies
circling a buddha turd,
Star maps drawn in lipstick
on the mud walls of opium towns.

Images like those,
scenes such as these--

The red midgets of hell
challenge Suzy's friends
to a snowball fight

Or

In the cave behind the waterfall the ant king licks the clitoris
of the sleeping anthropologist.--

existing only on paper
are yet more important
than flags, bibles, gold,
guns and reputations.

So

throw off your armor of acronyms,
your layers of numerical padding
and
come bathe with me,
come slide beside me naked
into the world's steamy honeycomb
of words.

here's the deal. under the water. things live. things grow. there are cities under there. there are things that we stomp on with no idea. even after they cut our foot or sting us.

we go prancing into the water. we put on claustrophobic masks and look beneath. we ride on top. we run engines through it.
what we do not see, we do not know about. what is unknown, unseen has a different life from the known. from the seen.
we trust what our eyes can see. we justify faith for the rest.

but then i think about, what is under the water? to where i can not see, but my feet do tread.
it is a powerful place under there. like the earth above, it grows, it changes, it morphs and becomes. it plays by Pele and Kali. It rides the great wave of creation and destruction. There is not much grieving for its ebb and flow.

It, the earth, the animal kingdom, the menagerie of life, does live in non-duality. and only because it has understood, it has embraced, it has become its dual parts. it has transcended. it is transcendence.

so when i, a human. raised among buildings instead of trees, instead of sharks, when i peer under the watery horizon..
i am afraid. i can not stop thinking about what is under there when i can not see it. when i dip my feet in and rev my boats engine.
i can not stop thinking about the life beyond my sight. the life of the unknown and unseen.
but ah, all life is this, is it not? the question of what is around the bend?
where does the road go after the mountain top is reached?
what will the next moment bring?
if i quieted the fluctuations of my mind, what would it look like?
aum aum aum

i am not sure i feel comfortable walking into the water just as sometimes i am not comfortable walking through the grass unknowing of the cities of life i stomp on below.
in remembrance that as long as we do not directly try to create harm to ourselves or others, the rest IS the ebb and flow. the creation destruction.

so, what we do not see, what we do not know, is to be embraced, made aware of, have compassion towards, and
great great respect, for.

“Vanished the veils of light and shade,
Lifted every vapor of sorrow,
Sailed away all dawns of fleeting joy,
Gone the dim sensory mirage.
Love, hate health, disease, life, death:
Perished these false shadows on the screen of duality.
The storm of maya stilled
By magic wand of intuition deep.
Present, past, future, no more for me,
But ever-present, all-flowing I, I, everywhere.
Planets, stars, stardust, earth,
Volcanic bursts of doomsday cataclysms,
Creation’s molding furnace,
Glaciers of silent X-rays, burning electron floods,
Thoughts of all men, past, present, to come,
Every blade of grass, myself, mankind,
Each particle of universal dust,
Anger, greed, good, bad, salvation, lust,
I swallowed, transmuted all
Into a vast ocean of blood of my own one Being.
Smoldering joy, oft-puffed by meditation
Blinding my tearful eyes,
Burst into immortal flames of bliss,
Consumed my tears, my frame, my all.
Thou art I, I am Thou,
Knowing, Knower, Known, as One!
Tranquilled, unbroken thrill, eternally living, ever-new peace.
Enjoyable beyond imagination of expectancy, samadhi bliss!
Not an unconscious state
Or mental chloroform without willful return,
Samadhi but extends my conscious realm
Beyond limits of the mortal frame
To farthest boundary of eternity
Where I, the Cosmic Sea,
Watch the little ego floating in Me.
Mobile murmurs of atoms are heard,
The dark earth, mountains, vales, lo! molten liquid!
Flowing seas change into vapors of nebulae!
Aum blows upon vapors, opening wondrously their veils,
Oceans stand revealed, shining electrons,
Till, at the last sound of the cosmic drum,
Vanish the grosser lights into eternal rays
Of all-pervading bliss.
From joy I came, for joy I live, in sacred joy I melt.
Ocean of mind, I drink all creation’s waves.
Four veils of solid, liquid, vapor, light,
Lift aright.
I, in everything enter the Great Myself.
Gone forever: fitful, flickering shadows of mortal memory;
Spotless is my mental sky--below, ahead and high above;
Eternity and I, one united ray.
A tiny bubble of laughter, I
Am become the Sea of Mirth Itself.”

follow the flow follow the breeze
rivers running into seas of expression
people singing songs of survival
dancing secrets to survive.
looking into the reflections of existence spattered in chaos.
there is more to all this then what we get caught up in.
lets just enjoy. can we change the world in this way?
can we send a vibrational change with our aum's and our calm states of being?
can we sit quietly, embrace each other, smile into each others hearts, and love each other
