P.S. you might wanna also check out transits, because some of them are so lengthy, they almost take on the magnitude of natal positions by house. Especially Pluto and Neptune's transits by house.

I don't think the chart ruler's sign is that important. Even if it is, it's somewhere down the line in a loong list of chart indicators to be checked. Like, say, Mars's sign and aspect, since Mars is the natural ruler of the 1st house.
