After much thought, I've come to consider myself a liberal libertarian, i.e., the gov't's job is to take care of the poor, sick, veterans, and elderly; contain the grosser excesses of capitalism; maintain a taut military; but otherwise leave me alone. I'm against the death-penalty, love my right to bear arms, think strict-constructionalism is bullshit, and believe that women should have the right to make the heart-wrenching decision re abortion.
We were right to go into Afghanistan (the Taliban), but utterly and tragically wrong to go into Iraq unilaterally.
The same time, treasure and energy invested in the race to the moon (or the Manhattan Project) should be now invested in the commercialization of alternative energy sources.
And all movies shown on TV should be in letter-box format.
