Best Kept Secret on JiveLournal

Finally got around to watching The Departed last night and while I think this movie had one of the best endings I have ever seen in a major motion picture I also think Scorsese knows fuckall about the inner workings of the Mafia in general. Some aspects of Jack Nicholson's character and the near sci-fi situations he found himself in were well beyond exaggerated and fake. Yeah, I know it's a movie, but there was something about The Departed that stunk of Coppola's downfall in Godfather III. I find it ironic that Scorsese won an Oscar for best director for this flick, but not for any of his earlier more cohesive efforts. Don't get me wrong I don't think The Departed was bad as GF3, but it possessed a similar lameness throughout. For the criminally minded anyhow.

Seriously, Scorsese should've spent more money on an organized crime consultant and a finer femalian to play the psychiatrist love interest. I mean what was wrong with that brunette secretary (Tracey Paleo) with the fat ass that only had three cameos in the whole flick, but (and props to the DOP for this) always made sure to show her ass. Vera Farmiga looks like a soccer mom I'd only fuck drunk and desperate. I guess that's hollywood for ya. The lead actress has to have a body like a 14yr old boy.

The one line from the movie I'll not soon forget is Matt Damon quoting Sigmund Freud where he states that the Irish are the only people impervious to psychoanalysis. Succinct words of wisdom from the world's foremost clinical mommy-issue coke-head. And people wonder why my head's as thick as a brick and somehow simultaneously as insecure as a siv.

Hello, again.

You may wonder why I'm not here on LJ like ever or you may be ecstatic that I am not, either way this is the reason. (friends-only) I'd also like to add that if Irreality is the new crack as the GoN rightfully proves then Infictive is 78% pure crystal meth. Quite literally in certain cases. Yet we tend to refrain from using nicknames such as Ice, Glass, and so forth.

Goodbye, now.

I realize that most memes on my flist have absolutely no taste in music whatsoever when it comes to hip-hop (unless of course I turned you on to an artist my damn self) so this is mostly for my own record. No, this isn't exasperated muscular tension expressing itself through my maladjusted hormonal incendiary devices so much as just not giving a fuck who thinks I'm a swollen cock or not.

don't call me the ghost no more, call me the phantom...

Personally, I haven't cared much for 50 since he left Columbia records to sign with Interscope/Shaydee (aka Analscope/Fakee) and truly the only thing holding G-Unit together in my mind are the mixtapes (g-unit radio/pow/etc.) arranged by DJ Whookid. So while listening to the radio the last few weeks I caught bits and pieces of the latest batch of braindead drama circulating the airwaves.

Styles P vs. 50 Cent on hot97

SP is that nigga. Goddamn. Ain't no doubt. But for the first time in a long time I can see things from both sides of the argument. I stand by SP's point of view much moreso than 50's as it doesn't take a master's degree in thugonomics to see that 50 has grown into a gluttonous mass media money monster. If you're from the streets you should continue to give back to the streets. All these Empty Vision video-artist clowns talk about stayin true to their roots until they get to the point where they could actually inject their old neighborhoods with some much needed capital. This round definitely goes to Styles eventhough from another point of view I wouldn't want anyone beefin with me just because I made x-amount of money or sold x-amount of records.

More on Kotch records: Cam'ron vs. 50 Cent on hot97

This is probably the longest lasting non-homicide inducing beef I can think of in hip-hop today. Probably because it's all fake bullshit intended to make rap seem far more interesting than it actually is. Anything to sell more records. Yeah, I'm a fan, but I ain't stupid. Plus I have no love for Cam at all, at all.

Cam'ron Interview by Dj Kay Slay on Hot 97 (Beef w/ 50 Cent)

This speaks for itself if you actually go and listen to it, but it kind of pisses me off that they cut 50's track at the end because it would've been the best part of the entire audio sample. Ah well. It just proves my point that people up on Youtube are total fucking morons. As are most hip-hop fans. Combine the two and you're left with an excruciating amount of rancid garbage.
