I saw the olive branch, and I'm taking it.

I just realized that all this while, I have been wandering around a forest full of olive branches, but I've always prefered to walk around with my eyes closed shut, so I don't have to see them.

But even though they continue to poke at me from every direction, I pretend it's a nasty rash or some skin disease.

Although I forsee future instances where old habits die hard and I'm inclined to close my eyes again, at least now I know that what I've been trying not to see so long was indeed an olive branch (not fig leaf :X) and not some disease.

This reminds me of Socrates' ignoramus living in a dark cave and one day accidentally stumbling out into the daylight, and never wanting to go back to darkness again.

John 9:13-41 - "I once was blind but now I see".

And no, I'm not turning Xtian. Maybe one day I will. Just not now.
