I took a spill down some stairs and dislocated my shoulder. It
apparently too two doctors and three tries to get it back in. I
dislocated it in a way they had never seen before. At the present am
doing better, though its pretty painful. They were talking surgery, but
later decided that it wasn't necessary. I am apparently unique, they
were really surprised by how it was messed up. At this point I am looking at several weeks of pain while it heals, I am having problems typing, it takes a while. I am also not sure how I am going to pay for it, no job, no insurance is going to make it interesting. If necessary I will be applying to RESCUE and requesting help from pretty much anyone who cares to offer help.

Ugh, that's gotta be painful and annoying... I recommend ice, ice, and more ice. Helps the healing, reduces swelling, reduces pain. Range of motion exercises, although they're going to hurt like hell, are also a very good idea as long as you go slowly and use Hatha Yoga stretching techniques with breathing and holding, etc.
because you need to use your arms to hug and that would hurt!
heal quickly and heal well!
I hadnt realize how big and well organized RESCUE had gotten
color me impressed.
Dom, you're a huge part of the community this organization supports- you should definitely apply. Sounds like they can help you navigate the system as well as direct financial assistance, which is huge.
I hope you feel better soon. Did you end up in the Emergency room? I think that they must treat you, even if you are unable to pay, so that may be ok. Hugs, and yes, more ice!
I do know someone who was able to get out of her ER fees due to her financial situation. They didnt even catch up with her till a couple years later, interestingly enough. I would be happy to put you in touch if you like.
As of this writing, you did heal and are functioning again 2012 and beyond. Sometimes instead of surgery, that can make worse health problems or hospital infections, simple setting a broken bone back and bandaging, splints and time off the damaged limb can make natural healing. Past broken toes, hand, fingers, ankles, even a rib, I've done natural self healing and with pain salves, saving myself massive medical bills. Makes one realize the price of violence and assault to bodily injury on others in society, and the cost of med care.
Yes I have heal considerably. I have full range of motion back, though not full strength yet. Its still healing. As for the medical stuff, I went to the emergency room, was declared a Charity Case, and though I received lots of paper work the only ones trying to get money out of me are the X-ray department. They don't seem to understand broke, no employment, and no income. I've talked with the collectors and they were actually more understanding, its not that much, about 120.00 and I figure eventually I will be able to pay it back...
