And the hub is spinning in circles. Each spoke is rarely aware of the presence of the others... let alone the equal and offsetting forces exerted by the other spokes... One spoke leans on the hub, stabbing it to the core, and doesn't see the other spokes each poking at the hub. Until one spoke falls out, and another cracks.. the careful balance is disrupted.
