Thank you so much for teaching Unda a man man workshop. We had so much fun. You are an incredible dancer and instructor!

thats my little sister!
So we had a big storm on Monday at about 5:30am. 140,000 without power in our 'area'. (Less then half of that are without power now.) But that's what happens when you have a storm that produces 90-100 mph straight-line winds. Mid-American pulled crews from 8 states to help us get through this. I just got my power back and would like to say THANK YOU to the Milwaukee crew that spent several hours on my block this evening to get us back.
Driving on Monday morning was the weirdest thing eve...

First Unmata… My first knowledge of them came to me by accident. Luna (one of their lovely dancers) is on tribe and after reading something that she had posted I stumbled onto the name Unmata. I have to thank her (and the power of youtube) for helping me find a new inspiration. I’ve been in love with them since that first video that I saw. So when I saw that they would be represented at Tribal Rev. this year, I knew I didn’t want to miss it… And I’m so glad that I didn’t! Unmata is everything...

Highlights of my year:
January...
I officially rang in the new year while in a gay bar in the district...
Then I spent the next week horribly ill with the flu and a severe respiratory infection. Not exactly how I was hoping to start the year but what are you gonna do?
Rachel Brice workshop and show in Chicago. Learned a super fun choreography, which I've been performing all year. Rachel Brice is exactly how you would think she in person which was cool... she said she loved how sq...

So last night I'm at practice and feeling fiesty and we decided, just for the hell of it, we'd do this one veil dance. Now for those that don't know about this dance, the dance itself is great but the song is pretty much all about sex and getting sex and wanting sex (though only slightly more discrete then that) so we don't perform this veil dance in public often but it's fun to dance to every once in a while.
So I borrowed a friends veil since I didn't have one with me. Upon finishing the...

about me
I'm 23 and I live Illinois. I'm a history major. I'm a dancer... I am in the SCA where I reinact the medieval times... I make my own as well as other's costuming... I go to SciFi conventions. I am a belly dancer, mostly I'm focused on Tribal Fusion but I do some other styles as well (like folkloric). I also spin poi but I haven't graduated to fire yet... I'm also spinning staff as well. I think that's pretty much it for now.
