FOR THE BELLYDANCERS
This dance comes from sword and sun-cracked land.
In her journey, she discovered oceans, thunderstorms, mountains of green.
She comes to you, shoes filled with motherland sand
so her feet will feel at home wherever they walk.
She appears loose in her skin. Too many women have asked to try ...

Once more, I've had the pleasure of being a part of Kandice Grossman's vision extraodinaire! Taking part in her "WOMAN: God, Sex, and My Body" performance brought me such a thrill, and a jonesin like nobody's business to (*gasp*) perform again.
For this particular performance, I had my first experience on stage using a sword. Dancing to "Within You Without You" by the Beatles, which is chock full of Hindu spirituality and in the vein of much Indian classical music, our piece was in t...

Just last weekend I had the amazing experience of being a part of something totally unique and extraordinary...a dance and photo fusion choreographed, directed, and produced by Kandice Grossman. Way back in March I attended a fantabulous workshop in Kirksville, MO, hosted by the lovely USMED ingenues, Megan Hartman and Ashley "Nadirah" Tomten. And it was such a wonderful time! Let me tell you, if these ladies ever host another workshop I will definitely be first in line.
My friend Tracy was so excited to go, this being her first bellydance workshop. Not like I'm some old pro,I've only been to one oth...

Friday night, December 7th, marked my first ever belly dance performance. And what a rush it was!
Before I start rambling about the show, I have to give props to all my family and friends who braved the muck and mire (or threat of it) to make it to the show. It's so nice to have such a supportive group of people in my life. Okay, I'm not trying to act like a diva here and read an Oscar speech (I'm no Bellydance Superstar!) or anything, but seriously, I have to totally let everyone kno...

Everything bellydance inspires me. Do I need to go to bellydance rehab?
