Entheogenic was formed in 1999 by producer, engineer, songwriter Piers Oak-Rhind and Helmut Glavar. The duo met in Toulouse while working for Emagic (a former producer of music-studio software and hardware such as Logic, acquired by Apple Inc. in 2002).
They then created Entheogenic-soundlabs situated deep in the Gresigne Forest in South France where they spent 7 years creating timeless musical journeys...
Helmut is now living in Brazil conversing with the jungle & Piers is in the UK finalizing the new album [soon to be released]
They will unite again soon & gather their wits to create & expand new projects with the 'Portal of the Immortal' graphic & sounds lab


The name Entheogenic is derived from the term Entheogen coined in 1973 by a a group of ethnobotanists and mythology scholars to describe psychedelic substances used in a religious or shamanic context.
An entheogen, in the strictest sense, is a psychoactive substance (most often some plant matter with hallucinogenic effects) which occasions or supplements a spiritual/mystical experience. In a broader sense, the word "entheogen" refers to artificial as well as natural substances which induce alterations of consciousness similar to those documented for ritual ingestion of traditional shamanic inebriants, even if used in a secular context.
The word entheogen is a neologism derived from the ancient Greek : ἔνθεος (entheos) and γενέσθαι (genesthe). Entheos literally means "god (theos) within", more freely translated "inspired". The Greeks used it as a term of praise for poets and other artists[citation needed]. Genesthe means "to generate". So an entheogen is "that which generates God (or godly inspiration) within a person".
