I am currently working on producing and directing a very unique and powerful dance production. It's entitled - Aretias.

Aretias is the ancient name of a small mysterious island off the coast of The Black Sea of Giresun, Turkey. The island is famous for the large magickal black igneous stone, that still remains, which was once surrounded by a large roofless temple built centuries ago by the "Ancient Amazons". This was a magickal place where the Amazons would perform their spiritual ceremonies and DANCE under the full Moon to honor the Goddess Artemis.

The Ancient Amazons were a large tribe of Female Warriors who lived between 1400BC to 323BC. They were excellent archers, swordswomen, spear throwers and often fought with a double sided battle axe called the "Labrys" (The labrys symblolized the butterfly, the female labia, and rebirth). The Amazons were the first people to ever ride a horse in battle and the first people to use iron. They were very much connected to Nature "Mother Earth" and honored every creature as an aspect of The Goddess.

I Epona, am honoring the memory of the Ancient Amazons by bringing the spirit of the "Woman Warrior" to everyone through my dance performances and costume creations. Many women in today's society have forgotten that there is a warrior spirit within all of us. One that teaches us to have wisdom, confidence, and the courage to go after any dream or face any challenge! Do not forget her, for she is always there!
