I'm a writer, a mom, a budding swordswoman, and a collector of past careers (I think I'm between 25 and 30 already, maybe more...). After too many years of putting my own interests on the back burner, I'm finally "taking the lead role in my own life", and DOING the stuff I'm interested in, instead of just watching, reading, and dreaming about it.

I collect quotes - but not in any organized fashion. Some of my favorites have been paraphrased by people over time, and I'm not sure what the original was anymore - but I really try to get the right attribution when I can!
What was I thinking!?!
I came up with this phrase the other day, when I was feeling particularly frustrated with my current job situation. That day I decided I was ready to "collect another past career".

What does it mean? Well, I heard once, at least 10-15 years ago, that the average American would go through 7 careers in their working lifetime. (That number is bigger now.) ...Sure, there's a bunch of crap out there on the web, and there are still some situations in which research can be done with better accuracy by going to "traditional" sources and skipping the internet research.
