eric made me laugh so hard water came out of my nose.
April 25, 2005
One day Zues woke up from centuries of slumber and rubbed the sleep from his crackeling god-eyes. He streatched his arms wide and yawned and for miles clouds rummbeled with waking thunder.
Zues looked down at the world and was startled to see the state that mortals had put the earth in.
He put his head in his hands and let out a low rummbeling sigh. "Will these little god seeds ever learn?", he asked no one in particular.
However Zues does not give up in his plans, ooohhh no.
He would help put things right (and no beutifull maids would distract him this time).
Zuess pulled out his mighty bow and produced an Arrow from his divine quiver. He held the arrow in his hands and spoke a gentle blessing onto it.

"Go my creation, and strike to the heart of this world. May you never lose focus and may you mercifully lay to rest that which is not for the benifit of all that is Noble and Beautifull".

With that he notched the charmed arrow and with all his godly might, he pulled back and let fly at the spinning blue planet beneath his domain.
The arrow flew accross the oceans and through the clouds and then finally struck home and Eric Shatin was concieved.

Rock out with me!

Tonal: Clockwork Orange: Huge Pre-Halloween Bash (events » nightlife) Saturday, October 27, 2007 - 10:00 PM 366 RSVPs People are still talking about what an incredible and epic party Tonal's end of summer Fade to Black event was, from the thick old school vibe to the standout performances by SF's best to the surprise closing set by DJ Rap who was in town from the UK that night. We knew that we had raised the bar and were a bit perplexed by how we could possibly come close to topping our last party. Good thing we love a challenge! Saturday night of Halloween weekend. Clockwork Orange theme. Three (yes, three) out of town headliners and a supporting cast of SF's best. We are already hearing rumors of yet another potential unannounced late night performance. Get your orange threads ready or bust out your Halloween costume for an early test drive. Whether we top the last party or not, this is definitely another event you will not want to miss!

Pre-Party: October 24th, Love It Wednesdays at Icon Lounge featuring Sleazy Mcqueen & Tonal residents Andrew Phelan, Eric Sharp, & Jimmy B.

The Lineup:

Q-Burns Abstract Message (Orlando: Eight-Tracks, Brique Rouge)

After tearing our first Tonal party (Electric Blue) to absolute shreds in January, we thought it was high time we brought Q-Burns, one of SF's favorite out-of-towners, back for another round of his signature blend of quirky, techy madness to drive the dance floor wild.

Diz (Chicago: Classic, Music For Freaks)

One of Chicago's most respected DJ's, Diz is a man on fire. Words won't do justice to how hard this man can rock the decks. We are scratching our heads trying to figure out why he doesn't play here more often, and when you are drenched in sweat with sore legs, you will wonder why as well!

Sleazy McQueen (Orlando: Eight-Tracks, Icon, Chillin)

From Dirty Disco and Italo grooves to bumping uptempo house cuts, Sleazy McQueen is one of the finest up and coming dj/producers in dance music. Sleazy describes his own sound as "culturally confused," a perfect fit for our city which heralds eclecticism. It ain't easy being Sleazy!

Home Wrecker: Gritty Beats @ the dive bar! (events » nightlife) Saturday, November 3, 2007 - 9:00 PM 366 RSVPs All right you trollops & hussies...get all of the bitches together on Saturday night for Home Wrecker, a night of raging insanity at one of the most infamous dive bars in SF. Nestled in the heart of our seediest neighborhood, the Tenderloin, the old Arrow Bar has re-opened as The Matador! Conveniently located on 6th Street at Market so that you can stumble into a cab, onto the Muni, or onto your bike for a wobbly ride.

Rock It Science is joining forces with Dinner Party Records and Prismatic to bring together a night of filthy tracks that will make you freak.

Our special guest this Saturday is Sleazemore, who has been tearing the 222 club a new asshole at his residency Lights Down Low as well as making guest appearances for Blasthaus here in SF and bringing his gritty sound to party monsters across the country.

We will also be joined by a live performance from the Fingermonsters with their signature barrage of techy, bleepy madness.

Don't miss our party this Saturday night!

Bounce Back w/Troydon (NYC), Homero Espinosa, Micah J, Bam, Flook, M.O.D. & More! (events » nightlife) Saturday, January 12, 2008 - 9:00 PM 371 RSVPs Now that you've made your resolutions and nursed your hangover, it's time to kick off 2008 in style and Bounce Back! The main floor will feature Troydon all the way from NYC. Troydon tore the roof off of the Tonal: Poppin' Pink party in June something fierce and this is his first time coming back since. Hold on to your hats peoples; Troydon likes to go bang! He is supported by great local talent from start to finish, including SF breakout artist Homero Espinosa whose label Yerba Buena Discos popped up all over the map in 2007, most notably with one of Homero's original tracks being featured on Mark Farina's Ministry of Sound mixed CD.

Upstairs we have pitted Bam & M.O.D. from Evil Breaks, one of our favorite local crews, in a steel cage match with 2 of our favorite Nor Cal DJs, Micah J and Flook (from Lake Tahoe and Nevada City respectively.) Show your love and check out how the sounds of the city compares to those of the hilly forests.

Peel the New Years grime off of your dancing shoes, take some liver medicine and join us for a night of madness! Early arrival encouraged...
Mark Farina Live In Tokyo CD Release Tour: Debut Performance at Temple (events » nightlife) Saturday, January 26, 2008 - 10:00 PM 373 RSVPs San Francisco house legend Mark Farina needs no introduction. He has
diligently brought our sound to the far corners of the world,
consistently pleasing fans and turning new heads on to house music.
His Live In Tokyo cd on Om Records is one of his best yet: a funky
eclectic mix of tracks blended flawlessly at the club. Mark will
throw down a 3 hour set at his Temple debut this night, guaranteed to
work the crowd into a frenzy!

Supporting Mark in the Main Floor is Back 2 Basics head honcho Rouzbeh
and Green Gorilla Lounge's newest inductee Jimmy B. These 2 up and
coming locals will get you warmed up like few others can.

The Destiny Lounge will feature grittier techno and tech house
stylings, headlined by SF's latest breakout artist Worthy of Dirtybird
and Katabatic. Worthy celebrates his debut Om Records remix this
evening. Underground afficianado and techno staple Nikola Baytala of
Kontrol and Blasthaus will be rocking the decks as well, taking no
prisoners. Starting the night off right will be Rock It Science
mastermind Eric Sharp.

For the Hip Hop heads the Catacombs will feature Temple's fine
residents Tone and Destro.

Tonal: Midnight Blue--Tonal's 1 year anniversary bash!! (events » nightlife) Saturday, February 23, 2008 - 10:00 PM 376 RSVPs One year ago we set out to put a new mark on the San Francisco scene with a series of color themed parties by the name of Tonal that would feature our favorite DJs from across the world. After enlisting the help and input of many of our friends and family, we decided to kick things off with what turned into an insane underground featuring Q-Burns Abstract Message. With double the turnout we planned for and so many people dressed up in that party's theme of Electric Blue, we knew we were on to something.

A full year later, looking back at what has been an epic run of events, we decided it was time to bring back the blue theme for our One Year Anniversary! After a year that featured Justin Long and Shamrock Green, Miles Maeda and Fire Engine Red, Matt e Starr and Pimpin' Purple, Troydon and Poppin' Pink, Jay Tripwire and Groovin' Gold, Jeno and Fade to Black, and finally Diz and Clockwork Orange, it's time for Midnight Blue with DJ Fame!

Saturday, February 23rd

From guest sets in every corner of the globe, to his 4 year residency at New York's premier underground venue, Sullivan Room, Fame has brought the more jackin' sounds of tech house and electro to crowds of thousands across the world. A veteran with over a decade on the decks, Fame's energetic performances showcase serious technical ability combined with intense cuts, crazy loops, and other turntablist tricks to bring a truly unique sound to the dance floor.

Green Velvet in SF May 17! (events » nightlife) Saturday, May 17, 2008 - 9:30 PM 376 RSVPs Saturday, May 17 2008

Rock It Science & Temple Nightclub Present:

Green Velvet (Cajual, Relief)

Few artists have the ability to produce timeless music that can cross genre barriers and be enjoyed by listeners with diverse musical interests. Green Velvet is one of these few.

Producing under the Green Velvet moniker as well as his alter ego Cajmere, Curtis A. Jones has released a steady stream of dance floor aimed tracks since 1991. His discography boasts many impressive contributions to dance music: Flash, Answering Machine, (It's Time For) The Percolator, La La Land, Shake & Pop and many others.

Curtis' ear for great music put him at the forefront of two seminal labels in Chicago: Cajual Records and Relief Records. These labels hosted his original works as well as other renowned artists such as Armand Van Helden, DJ Sneak, Dajae, Johnny Fiasco, Roy Davis Jr., Mark Grant, Gene Farris and more. Green Velvet is usually found traveling across the globe to perform at festivals and huge clubs but May 17th he will make a rare West Coast appearance at San Francisco's Temple Nightclub, playing a DJ set while singing some of his original works.

Rock It Science founder and local favorite Eric Sharp will open for Green Velvet in the Main Room. The Destiny Lounge will be hosted by Lights Down Low and will feature Dirtybird Records' rising star Worthy as well as Lights Down Low residents Sleazemore and Rchrd Oh!? along with Green Gorilla Lounge's Jimmy B. Photographers Bennett Sell-Kline and Parker Day will be on hand to document the evening. Temple's Hip Hop residents Tone and Destro will hold it down in the Catacombs.

Please note that you must have tickets for this event; RSVP for a chance to win a pair of tickets or simply purchase them. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.going.com/gvtemple (recommended as this will sell out) or in limited quantities at the door.
