Cuban Mojito & Sunshine.....Thu, June 6, 2013 - 8:53 AM
Okay from dreary rain to hot hot arid heat!
So no school today and too hot to work on the land, might as well really play hooky!

3 sprigs of mint leaves
1/2 fresh lime, cut into 2 wedges
2 tablespoons white cane caster sugar
3/4 cup ice cubes
2 fluid ounces white rum
1/2 cup chilled club soda
Place mint, sugar and squeeze the juice of 1 lime wedge, then place the used lime wedge into a sturdy glass. Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime to release the mint oils and lime juice. Add the other lime wedge after squeezing the juice into the glass, and muddle again to release the lime juice and oil from skin of the lime wedge. Add ice almost to the top. Pour the rum slowly over the ice, and fill the glass with soda water. Stir, add music and enjoy.

|Fresh mint growing by the door outside. Just need a few extra ingredients for Mojitos again this summer. Even bought a muddler, though I didn't know that term for crushing things in booze. I was searching for "pestles." I had my first drink in Cape Town, South Africa. They claimed to have the best Mojitos in town. Odd since I'm two states and a short boat ride away from Cuba.|
Mojito.........Today was Mojito day; choco-mint, applie-mint & orange-mint make interesting vibrations. I'm interested in finding a ginger-mint.
