We brought Gort out to the desert and back. I was expecting a "WTF...we forgot xxx. Shit." moment but there was none. Things went smoothly and nicely. The Artery were wonderful and helpful people, the installtion consumed only half as much power as we estimated, it survived dust, winds, temperature and intoxicated people. I've just arrived in Santa Cruz/CA and we're now working on our playa installation at full speed. It's called Gort, after the chracter in the 1951 science fiction masterpiece "The Day the Earth Stood Still".

A nice little effect chain to add dirt to a clean drum track is Reverb -> Gate -> Distortion.
