She likes me!

December 18, 2006
I liked Kaari from the moment that I met her… she is dynamic, sexy, charismatic, and incredibly fun. I hope she is the kind of friend who pops up every once in awhile just to keep in touch but if you she doesn’t I guess I will have to learn to play WOW…

Hugs and Love,
J.

Kaari huh?

When Mom brought her home from the hospital, I didn't like her at all. I had been scared when Mom wasn't home. All any of the grown ups would tell me is that she was in the hospital and would be bringing my new baby sister home. I didn't care about a new baby sister, I just knew that hospitals are where people go that are sick, broken, or dying. When Mom finally came home with this loud mouthed, stinky, red headed squirmy thing I was pissed. I am terrified for DAYS and this is what happens? WTF??? I was almost 4.

Over the years, I've gotten over that. Now I resent her for much more adult things such as her natural ability to win hearts, and friends, and convince others to kill for her.

Kaari is a beautiful, intelligent, sassy, funny, loving woman. She is easily distracted by shiny things, but once you've proven that you aren't going to hurt her delibrately she will always be there when you need her.
The first time I rememver ever seeing Kaari, was at an SCA event- and I was doing kitchen duty and had come out to serve feast, and she was standing up by the Baronial table singing and I caught my breath and thought, "I would kill to have a voice like that" all I could say was "Encore!"- it wasn't until a few years later that I actually became friends with her, but she sort of has a magnetism that just draws people in. She thinks she gets addicted to things easily, but I think people get addicted to her easily- I just got hooked for life.
She makes me laugh, and makes me feel like there is something more to enoy in life than just surviving. If I had to say one phrase about her it would be 'spark of life' I don't know what that translates to in Latin, but that is what I love best about her, even if some days it's hard for her to see that part in herself.

about me
The last couple of years have been pretty wild. Looking back its hard to believe all that happened in such a short period of time. I've lived a lot and learned a lot, and I'll always be grateful for the experiences I've had, because without them I wouldn't be who I am, or where I am today, and I happen to like both. New Zealand is a beautiful, strange yet much like home, new world, and I can't wait to explore more of it!

I haven't posted anything in a while, cause, well... I've been busy! It always takes time to get settled into a new place when you move, but especially so when you move to a whole new country, where you have to get medical exams and fill out lots of paperwork before you can even begin looking for a new job. Not to mention the whole learning your way around a new town, and that pesky little learning to drive on the wrong side of the car/road! Even the turn signals are on the wrong side of t... read more

The garage sale was a success. I made lots of dollars and got rid of most of my stuff. I even found good homes for all of my fabric.

Al's on Sunday night was lots of fun. It was suicide karaoke night. My friends put up random songs for me to sing, half of which I had no idea how the song went, but what the hell I sang em anyway! There was much goldschlager and fun was had by all.

Now I just have to finish packing. Whatever doesn't fit in 4 suitcases isn't going with me. One wee... read more

I'm having a garage sale this weekend, Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd from 8am to 5pm. It's retardedly early to get up on the weekends but I'm told the garage sale hounds like to start early. I've never held a garage sale before in my life and I need to sell it all before I go, so come take advantage of me and buy kewl stuff for dirt cheap! Hell even if you don't wanna buy anything, come by and say goodbye cause I'm outta here in a week and a half.

I have a LOT of kitchenware (mo... read more

Yay! I've sold my car and bought my tickets. I'm leaving on July 2nd. My last day of work is on June 20th. Which means I now have less than a month to sell/give away/donate everything that won't fit into 4 suitcases. Shipping to New Zealand is ridiculously expensive. It is much more cost effective to just pay for taking extra suit cases on the flight with me than to try and ship anything there. And since most things will cost less to buy there than ship there, and most of my electronic... read more

I wish someone would hurry up and buy my car. I want to go back to New Zealand now! I've never been very good at waiting. I have no patience. When I finally decide what I want, I go make it happen. But sitting around waiting for other people to do their part so I can finally do mine drives me nutz! I want to be moving, doing, getting things done! RAWR! And possibly even BLARGH!

Can I go home now?

It was amazing, wonderful, fantastic, beautiful... and New Zealand was nice too! I had such a fabulous time!

In no particular oder I...
...went for walks on warm sandy beaches
...splashed in the surf
...explored caves
...went for long drives
...met Dave's relatives and they even seemed to like me!
...pet horses (which surprisingly enough with my weird allergies did not make me itch, YAY!)
...shopped for frying pans, and other kitchen utensils cause his bachelor pad was lacking in ... read more
