I am interested in connecting with folks that have similar interests. I'm honored by all the friend invites, but I expect some communication with you, either personal messages or in threads before I'll accept you as a friend.
I want to be able to stay in touch with friends on a personal level and already have some "friends" that I don't remember why we friended.
I don't have time for and am NOT interested in being a tour guide for Barcelona or Spain, sorry.

about me
Today, like every other day, we wake up empty
and frightened. Don't open the door to the study
and begin reading. Take down the dulcimer.
Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

And what else....I"m a little person with big imagination and lots of energy :)
I just came across the article below on thinkprogress.org/The Louisiana judge sounds like my husband's 86 year old grandmother who was raised in Missouri.
I rarely give any thought to being in an "interracial" marriage. Fortunately, except for T's grandmother's concerns about our having kids (which isn't gonna happen) I've never witness anyone giving us any kind of racist vibe. I am grateful to live in a time (and place) where that
doesn't happen. To think, like gays in most of th...

I know probably none of the folks reading this (cept maybe Melanie) are in this part of the world to attend. But I just wanted to share one of the many things that I've been working on.
T-Bird (my husband) and I are busy organizing the Barcelona Earthdance International ™ event Sat. Sept. 26. It will take place at the at a friends beautiful Integral Yoga Center in St. Pere de Ribes. We've planned an afternoon of dancing, sharing vegetarian food and non-alcoholic drink with friends, ther...

I do find it hard to believe that Californians aren't out raising hell over all the programs that are going to disappear with the budget cuts. It's an assault on the middle class and poor. I got through college with Cal grants. What are all those college students supposed to do? Or the health care workers? Or the teachers?
Well, I found these articles on taxing medical marijuana and even decriminalization "uplifting". Next if they got all those poor souls that are in prison for possession ...

is the name of one of the segments of a really interesting series of discussions online at a site called Global Spirit.
www.linktv.org/globalspirit/Ecstasy I've watched 3 so far, one with my sufi teacher and a hindu physicist and another on music and the sacred was a discussion with a native american singer and the Dean of the Grace Cathedral.
But I especially loved and was moved by Andrew Harvey and Sobonfu Somé discussing the importance of dance and celebration in a community...

Many spiritual teacher's talk about the power of words in creating our reality. I am regularly asking my mom to stop "cursing" people. Now I've just come across this article that says swearing can help lesson pain.
What do you think?
Swearing can make you feel better, lessen pain
LONDON (Reuters Life!) – Cut your finger? Hurt your leg? Start swearing. It might lessen the pain.
Researchers from the school of psychology at Britain's Keele University have found swearing can make you fee...

I admire Ln especially as she lives through sharing her artistic talents and spiritual path with others. I truly beleive we can all make our living using our natural gifts which bring joy to others and make us feel fulfilled and she is a living example. She dances, creates Mantra in movement, teaches Yoga, gives healing and makes beautiful original ceramics..
If you are lucky enough to be her friend as she will make you feel so welcome and cosy in her home, with her delicious cooking.. and I have that privilige...
Thanks Ln for being just the way you are!
With all my love...

although committing things to print sometimes requires a bit of prodding, i gladly share the experience i've had of knowing LN.
as someone else said, she IS generosity itself--she's given me many things both tangible and others more ephemeral (don't worry LN, i'm only gonna talk about the good stuff...) while i coudn't (and wouldn't) list everything here are a few i think both she and those of you reading this should know:
1. the courage to do things only previously dreamed of
2. the re-discovery of neglected aspects of myself
3. a re-inforced sense of self-worth
4. a partner to share with
just as i am glad you're part of my life LN, i'm very glad i could also be a part of your's.
Happy Birthday! I love you very much,

dancing is such a great metaphor for life.
sometimes we dance close, sometimes farther apart, and sometimes we don't touch at all--yet we're still dancing together.
sometimes i lead, sometimes she does.
i've had a great time dancing with her, even when it hurt me. i've learned that sometimes pain is the threshold of transformation, and i'm grateful for it. i've come to know how good the dance has been for her too and i'm glad--we're partners, even if only when we dance.
if she extends her hand to you gladly take it--not everyone gets to dance with her.
