My Obligatory Autobiography

Gender
Male
Age
35
Location
about me
My name is Isaac.
I am a fine artist working a range of media from oils to inks (where I am fluent in the methods used to produce inks and dyes) to various others (it is actually more than I wish to list if I were to choose to list every last one, [which I would never do].) The majority of my work is two dimensional, although I have traipsed over (here and there) into sculpture or (this or that) in the past, I will no doubt do it again in the future, perhaps I am doing it as you read this.

My Artwork is difficult to explain (not to describe), but I am always *glad* to explain it for anyone who is interested. Visit my deviant art account patasapien.deviantart.com (although I have recently [re-] read the legal agreement and I do not like the idea of them using my work universally for promotion without my knowledge, so you can actually not do this because I have removed the account from it's former existent status.)
Soon my web page will be up and you may visit it at that time, which is not yet.

I am interested in a variety of subjects, semiotics (obsessively), analytical philosophy , complexity theory ,
Human metaprograming, Information theory...the list is far from exhausted, in fact the list will grow as long as I live, because I do, because it nourishes me.

I am not your reclusive emotional stereotype.
I want to make this clear because I am tired of being expected to be something I am not and then having to wrestle with the preconceptions of others who think I should be someone...else... some one who I am not.
I do not wear a flat black French hat. I do not drink Absinthe, I do not produce my best work when in turmoil, I do not paint for myself, my work is not subjective and deeply personal, I do not work in fecal lumps of poorly administered impasto.
do not expect me to be starving to death in a garret somewhere dying from TB, because that is not me at all.

with that all said, I like people with a good balance of intelligence and creativity, even better are those with A LOT of creativity and intelligence, even better than that are people with a lot of both those things and Ideas coming out their ears so that they can not even sleep comfortably at night, even better than that are people who have everything I have listed so far , and do not get emotionally attached to abstract subjects because THEY can just talk about anything , debate anything, enjoy a conversation about anything. The few people I have met like this in my life were the best friends I have ever had, because I could relax with them, and just enjoy the stream of consciousness, not worry about having to explain everything, look forward to learning something new, and walk away inspired.
These...ultimately, are the people I would like to meet.
Some other hoops for you to jump through are:

° believing that new things can be done, but knowing that it never happens to people who don't think and act in new ways (no, *new to you* does not count).

°And all of that tiny percent of people who can suggest alternatives to unresolved issues, instead of just pointing out the issues.

My Father was a contractor and a home designer. when I was young, my mother was the queen of all which is arts and crafts and an interior decorator to boot My Father now owns his own firm, mother is now a nationally distributed photographer, Both sets of their parents were artists, children of artists, or architects, or musicians there was no escaping it. It was only a matter of time until I realized whatever else I wanted to do, I would always be an artist trying to be something else. This many years after that conclusion, if you name a medium I probably have experience in it.

I am working steadily towards building a serious career in the arts, and this occupies MUCH of my attention.
You will know when I like something because I will instantly want to make suggestions as to how it could be done differently, on the other hand if you get a "that's nice" from me it means I am bored, or it means you got the answering machine in my brain and I am busy, probably reprograming your brain while you are not looking. which sadly I am most of the time so don't be offended with me when I make subtle changes designed to provide me with entertainment.

I listen to a lot of Baroque music; I like expensive cigars, fine wine, Italian shoes, and small fast imported cars. My favorite meal is Crown Roast Rack of lamb with the little paper frills on the rib-ends. I love to fence.

My Blog

Well, for all of you who want details I hate to disappoint you but I am going to cover the basics just the same so try not to be too upset.

We got our wedding rings upon arrival of my mothers flight at Schiphol International.
They are great rings, Black Tungsten carbide steel and very elegant. We were both happy that we were able to get them at a reasonable price...I think we would still have been happier with the bone culture rings, but those were going to end up being prohibitively ex... read more

As you might be able to see it's been a while since I posted anything on tribe in the way of a blog.
well here is the fast update.

Moved from Eugene to Portland.
Hurt myself accidentally and had to get surgery.
did a lot of nothing and got pretty depressed.
Met Layla, online and received a visit from her in while still in Oregon.
Layla returned to Holland after things really didn't seem to be working out, but kept in touch.
discovered that a mold which grows in Oregon was responsib... read more

Well I am back, I didn't want to come back either.
"Arrr!" is a noise that you make when you close your eyes after a week at sea, and realise the ground is moving back and forth gentley and that you better open them soon or you will prove you are a true mariner and get land-sick.

"Arrr!" is a noise that you make when you realise it may be some time untill you eat fresh salmon again.

"Arrr" is a noise that you make when you wake up and your not in a hammock.

...And yet it never does.

I am 31. I would guess that at about 2 when my younger brother fell off the back of my fathers pickup incurred a skull fracture signaling the begining of my relative invisibility, and his 3 year stretch of grandmal seizures and mental retardation I should have seen the direction things were headed.

Well progress in my exodus to Portland is imminent.
Life is a container for many objective emotions, all with cause, but can we ever see the cause through the lens of our own desire to make sense of the universe around us?...Maybe, maybe with a little humility and a lot of good will.

I would like to thank some key people on tribe for making a huge difference in my present view of the things going on around me, and for their open kindness, and generosity which is just golden.
I would li... read more
