Re: Coping

Oops, my Grandfather was actually 85, it was another relative who died at 83. Just thought I should clarify that.... even though I probably didn't really need to. Oh well....

I think that too often than not, we base our emotional needs for intimacy from our fears of being alone. It's true when they say You really need to get to know yourself in order to learn what it is you really want. Too many times people (me being ...

Customized volunteering positions?
(in Burning Singles!)
I've thought of officially volunteering for something at BRC, but I guess I'm a bit worried about the amount of time required. So much of my burn experience is that of a loner, but parts of me would like to branch out and change that, although I s...

Hey Tuffy,
The girlies have certainly offered you some very sound advise. The first step is to reach out and ask for help, which is exactly what you did with this post. One of my favorite excerpts, that I lean on in challenging times, is qu... read more discussion post on Wed, May 14, 2008 - 7:16 AM

Clay & Melissa at Historic Tattoo in SE Portland are setting me up, and I'm super excited. I dropped off the rough artwork today, scheduled my appointment, and off I go.............. These guys have a cool little studio where they do various art, part of it tattooing. You have to be invited, so I feel privileged! And, they're like 3 houses down the street from me. Youza! Now the question I still haven't fully decided on is, HOW BIG / SMALL??? It's going on my lower back. Clay sug... read more

No ink colors my skin to this date, thus managing staying "pure" (not virgin... hehehe) for what sometimes feels like a Century!!!! The design is simple; I wore it at last year's burn under the "safety" of temporary tattoo paint, yet probably larger than I would go for the real thing. I don't want a lot of color, but clean black lines, and a teal blue for the EYE. Not too large, not too small. This will be my one and only tattoo. Ever. The rough outline of th... read more
At burning man this year, my friend Rico brought a book on "The Green Man". In the back, toward the reference section, it listed all the places in the world where you can find art/sculpture relating to The Green Man. One such place noted is "Domkyrkan" (the main church) in Linkoping, Sweden (my hometown).

For those of you who may (or may not) wonder, I am embarking on a 10-day journey to my hometown; :Linkoping, Sweden. I haven't been back for 8 years, and it's well past time! It all started before Burning Man; My girlfriend (bff), Camilla, emailed me to let me know that "our gang" of girls, who I went to school and played team handball with, and who are all spread out between Sweden and other European countries by now, are meeting in mid-October for a spa get-away. I'm t... read more

Eyefleye might just be the most down-to-earth, grounded person I have met in a long time. Aside from being a sweetie with many interests and talents, she is super-cool, and a cutie to boot!
No testimonial can express the warmth of her smile. No words can describe the spark in her eye. No mere mortal can properly explain the how good her salads are. Can I get a "Hollah?!?!?!" August 1, 2005
eyefleye is the best! walks into the room and creates something beautiful. you're lucky to meet her, and can sometimes find her at the hotel playa :) Tray tables up, we're about to land. AK
