I found the Green Man!

At burning man this year, my friend Rico brought a book on "The Green Man". In the back, toward the reference section, it listed all the places in the world where you can find art/sculpture relating to The Green Man. One such place noted is "Domkyrkan" (the main church) in Linkoping, Sweden (my hometown).

During my visit last month, I made an exploratory trip to Domkyrkan to seek out The Green Man. I couldn't find him at first, and ended up having to ask a church offical. Guess where? In the dead CENTER of the church CEILING! Looking down at us. Creepy looking too! Ironically, the church doesn't know much of the history behind the sculpture, and I have promised to send them links to the history. In Domkyrkan, he's referred to as "Bladmannen", which means "The Leaf Man".

I will post more pics from my trip soon, but I wanted to share this with ya'll first, 'cause the Green Man is kinda' near to our hearts.

If you are serious looking for the Green Man, look in Rosilyn Chapel, SW of Edinborough.
