Whisper Vertical
(blog entry)
Yippie, just managed to do Whisper Vertical for the first time. So I thought I'd write down the reason(s) why I think I succeeded.
I always thought I couldn't do it because I'm short (5'1"). That is only part of the equation, because with a hoo...

World Hoop Day in Holland
(blog entry)
My first World Hoop Day to celebrate and it was wonderful. Karin de Wit, my hoop teacher organized it in her hometown. It's probably the only place in Holland where a group of that size would gather, as that's where she's been teaching mostly.

Life after Hoopgirl L1 teacher training - gratitude and excitement
(blog entry)
I've never been this proud of a certificate! Somehow it marks the beginning of a new life. It's hard to explain. Well, mayb it's not. I'll give it a go.
My love commented that I look different when I came back. Not good, not bad, just different...

(blog entry)
My blog here at tribe has stood still, but I haven't, nor has my hooping. Well, the hooping did definitely slow down as I as overtaken by fatigue and RSI. A more difficult art to master than hooping is for me the art of balance. Not too much, not...

When I last posted, I was pretty much still struggling with leg hooping. In the time since, I've witnessed a slow process. I've never learned anything before where the learning process/progress was a thing to behold with the naked eye.

I always thought I couldn't do it because I'm short (5'1"). That is only part of the equation, because with a hoop too large, it will definitely bang the floor, but there's more to it.
Reason 1. Mindset
I decided I wanted to learn this. That is, I changed my negative mindset, which can creep in after failing a number of times. I tell myself I find the move ...

After a very rainy day I boarded our little car with 5 hoops and 4 men in the pouring rain, but when we got to Breda 1 hour and 20 minutes later it was bright sunshine. And it was soooo exciting to actually see a bunch of people hooping in the park!...

My love commented that I look different when I came back. Not good, not bad, just different. I'll have to ask him if that is still the case several days later. I still do feel different.
As I've said before I've run away from teaching and similar situations, situations where I was supposed to present in front of a group. It's like runni...

A more difficult art to master than hooping is for me the art of balance. Not too much, not too little. Balance is not something that is still. It is forever moving, and it takes sensitivity and a listening ear to forever adjust, and adjust, and adjust.
As summer has slowly come upon us, my energy has improved. The hooping has gotten a ...

I've tested out all sorts of fabric, and was doing okay. However, when I received my Hoopnotica travel hoop, which was given to me as a (sollicited :) birthday present. An amazing thing happened. Instead of struggling to get the hoop back up from my legs, I ...
