with love from my friend

April 17, 2008
Awww my sweet sista!

There is nothing like having a Sherry in your life! I am proud and honored to have her as my beginning teacher and as a true friend :) There is nothing like dancing at a show and hearing her yip and zaggareete for you..that sweet little yip that i know is her voice and hers only. I love that our friendship has endured so much and that we have taught each other so much...but that's what teachers do right? Just know that I love you so much sista and always will....through thick and thin I am always there for you...now get back on the couch and drink your liquids and take care of yourself and your pneumonia! smooches!

on my mind

Damn pneumonia is a bitch! I'm used to being back up dancing and working after 3-4 days with a cold or flu. I'm on my 6th day and still feeling wimpy. I am being a good patient and following the dr's orders of rest and fluids. Thanks to my husband who has been able to be home and care for me so that I can rest and also thanks to Jen who is covering my classes. I am trying to be patient, but I am starting to go stir crazy. How much longer before I feel like myself again?

Ok - rant ... read more

I'm not sure how I did it, but somehow I raised a couple of amazing sons! I was such a young mom; my first born just before I turned 19. I felt that communication would be my greatest tool for keeping them safe and well. I expected them to go through all the normal experimentation with sex, drugs, etc. and as long as we were able to talk about everything that we would survive it all. I was especially worried about this since both of their parents are addictive personalities. Neither of t... read more

An interesting thing happened this weekend.
I was dancing tribal to some new music in my living room while my husband was watching. He said that I had a snap in my wrist with my arm sweeps, and then he was talking about how my spins were sharp with like a half second pose at the end. (obviously a trained belly dance audience member) -At that moment it made sense - I finally understood what Jen was talking about, because I can picture that in my self. I recognize that as my ingrained cabar... read more
