New Years Eve

So this was the first New Years Eve that I haven’t worked in 4 years, it was kinda trippy. However, I got to do my first Restaurant performance with 2 of the Girls from The Gypsy Chicks up in Flagstaff. It went well, the girls did 3 sets where I played along with the music, and then I did a drum solo for them (Pictures posted). I’m defiantly getting better, but I still have plenty of room for improvement. I got to perform with my brand new drum, and man did it sound awesome. It’s a black and white mother of pearl inlayed drum. It was my gift to my self for my 2 year anniversary playing. In all 2005 was a good year and I hope 06 just gets better. I hope you all had happy holidays, and have a great new year.

My hands hurt...

But man my shoulders and arms look nice, ;)> So since I have moved to AZ, AKA last Thursday, I have been practicing my drumming for at least 3 hours a day. Now that my not seem like much, but I hardly used to practice 2 hours a week. And on Tuesday I practiced for about 5 or 6 hours total. I had gone down to Phoenix to visit some friends, I got there at about 2 so that I didn’t have to sit in traffic on the 17 from Prescott to Phoenix, for my car has no AC. So I got to Shirley’s Delhi at around 2, went and got some food, came back practiced for an hour, had a lesson with Gabby from 3-4, practiced more from 4-5, chatted with Shirley for a half hour, and then drummed for my friends class from 6 – about 9:30. So I’m giving my hands a break for now. Phoenix, aside from the heat was fun. I finally got to meet the majority, if not all of the girls in Natium. Made new friends, saw old ones, it was good times.
