Moving to Wichita, KS

Dear all My Friends, WOW, where do I start, well in September of 2007 I left Arby's, which was a great job and great people to work with and a lot of challenges. I spent 7 years there and sometime wish I was back there. Well on September 2007 I quit and wanted to see if the grass was greener on the other side of the fence, so I got a job with Quizno's Subs as a Franchise Business leader. Man that was a great job and paid really good, I got my dream bike. But on October 2008 I was laid off and the economy as we all know took a turn for the worst. I thought I would get a job like nothing, with a severance pay, hey I can make so extra money......NOT. Well here it is March 2, 2009 I am starting my new job, WOW almost 6 month unemployed. Can you beleive me being Depressed, That is why I have been so quite on Tribe. Way back in November I started interviewing for a job with Dairy Queen, I met Doug and had a few interviews and things moved really slow. I had about 20 interviews and all over the southwest but I just could not get hired. I mean you start to wonder what is wrong with me, i am a great person and love everyone and get a long with everyone. I went thru a few more intense interviews with Doug, My new boss and I finally landed the Job as a Business Consultant with Dairy Queen and I will be over the state of Kansas. Donna wanted to know how much DQ was charging me to work there( I love Ice cream and blizzards). I started today and will be in training and traveling for the next couple of months. In late March or April, Donna and I will be moving to Wichita. I will be renting out the house to my daughter Jessica and her family and then after about a year I will buy another house in Wichita. I will still be in the Albuquerque area until then and coming home on my days off. Anyway I just want to let all my friends know what was going on with me. I have met some great friends on Tribe, Doug and Angela in Lincoln and Elle in Omaha, well that is close enought to drive and visit and dance and drum. Wichita has some nice classes and a nice Bellydance community that has already welcome us into there home. We are really going to miss all our friends in Albuquerque, but our grandkids are here so we will be back. (is that a good excuss to come home to dance and drum with a great bumch of friends). If anyone is in Wichita your more then welcome to stay. Ok well I keep everyone updated and start commenting on all the great pictures. Take care, Bob

Ya I got it. I know I have been quite lately, but I have been waiting for my new toy to come. I have been putting off my trip to Phoenix for a few weeks and then i really have to go and my bike arrived on Wednesday and I was out of town till Sunday. I have waited at least 45 day for this to come. It is a American Ironhorse Texas Chopper, total custom and it even has Trible graphics on it. I love it, its a dream come true. To tell you the truth I am getting a little sensitive in my old age, but when i got home Sunday I almost cried (LOL) Donna will tell you i did but i did not I just had watery eyes. But hey you would cry if you have this custom chopper in your garage. Will now with my drum straped to my back I guess I am off to drum pratice. Drums, bikes and bellydancer wife, I think i got it all. LOL.

Its my Baby's Birthday

Well tribe was off yesterday....so here goes. August 16, was my baby's birthday she turn....well I cant tell a ladys age but she looks 25 or should I say under 30. I love her so much and hope she had a great day with all the kids and grand kids over ( yes I said grand kids). LOL She is a beautiful lady and I am filling a little jealous cause she look so good. Well I better go cook for her...cause as she says it her birthday all month long. It really is all about you Baby......I love you and HAPPY BIRTHDAY my wonderful Donna. Love Bob

Ok, I know you think I am crazy and you might think this is dumb or wierd........... But I had a great weekend. Ya I did my thing, I love monster trucks, I love bellydancing and in the same night...WOW. You know when travel, I always let my bellydance friends know so I can meet them in person. I go to EL-Paso, TX a lot, in fact I grew up there and my family is still there. On Friday we went to the Hush Gallery and saw all our favorite dancers at a show that the Snake Charmer and the Bellydancer puts on every week, Sonia puts on a nice show with all the talented dancers from EL-Paso..... Sonia and her daughter Senee are one of our Favorite dancers and they are becoming our good friends, we love them a lot. Then....OK.....now Saturday my brother, his kid and I went to the Monster Truck jam at The UTEP stadium. Man it was great, what a lot of fun hanging out with my brother. Then of course right after the truck jam we went to the Q-8 monthly bellydance show. Sandra always put on a great show. What a line up of superstars, I cant name them all but Sandra, Selena, Lizeth, Snake Charmer and the Bellydancer, Felica and a host of other Talented dancers form all over. We love the Q-8 and Sandra she is our best friend and love to see her dance, she did this awsome machine gun, belly dance gothic, tribe, what ever, you want to call it, but that girl can move. I like it so much at the Hush Gallery I asked her to do it at the Q-8 show so I could film it. I want her to post it on U-Tube. So two shows and a Monster Truck Jam in two days, I am telling you that made my weekend, the only thing that would have made it better was if I was drumming and riding my bike.

Tribe Friends

Well, my lovely wife got into this belly dance thing, next thing I know I am trying to learn how to drum and then I am on this Tribe Net and wow I got 60 friends from all over the world. The Belly Dance world is great, we have met a lot of great people and traveled all over to see shows. I got say I have some great friend whom I have never met except on tribe. Then there are my friends in EL-PASO, who we try to see once a month. I love those girls, as my daughters. Then there are my friends in Phoenix, I never met anyone in person but I hope that changes soon, I love to meet all the drummer down there and of course the belly dancers and shows, Thank you Andriana for keeping in touch. Then there is my California friends who also write and comment, Like my good friend Souhail whom I had the chance to meet and take a class from. I cant forget my friends in Albuquerque, That we see weekly and are so friendly and welcoming. I had a chance to go to Lincoln, NE this past week and thought I would let people know I was going to be out there and maybe I could meet them In person. I had the honor to meet my friend Douglas and his lovely wife Angela, wow what great friends, to take time out of there busy schedule, come and meet me. Its funny that we all got into belly dancing and drumming from the same reasons. Thank you Douglas and Angela for being my friends and welcoming into your home. My point is if you travel, email your friends and try to met them in person, there is a lot of great friends out there. We are all family in this great world of dance and music.

Tablah KING

Ok I am 6'1" and over 300 lbs and yes I get intimidated, especially from the Tablah KING. I am still a beginner drummer and had never play a musical instrument in my life until I pick up the dumbeck at age 46 and have taken classes by some of the greatest and did some Dums with the others. When the Great Tablah KING Souhail Kasper came to town, my wife talk me into going to the class. While Souhail is a friend of mine, I am too intimidated to take a class with someone that great. Donna insisted I go. I said ok after all the excusses like we had no money, I have to go out of town, etc, etc, etc, even going over there I was making excusses.But hey, I got there and walk in the room and my friend was happy to see me, after a big hug and a hand shake he made me feel right at home. He worked hard with me and others in the class and was very funny, but serious about his teaching. I have to tell you if Souhail ever comes to your town, you need to take a class with my friend, it worth being in the same room with the Tablah KING. Oh ya tell him Bob sent you and dont touch his drum. LOL . Soulhail, thank you, for you kindness and your teachings. I will call my local friends and start practicing more. Dum tek ka or dum right left. Oh and check out my pictures.

What a weekend

This weekend was AWSOME. First of all Indgio was in town, Flo and Daune put on a great show like they do with everything, always a event to attend when they are doing something. Friday nite all the girls danced and we met a lot of new friends, but the best part of the show was when Rachel Brice (Yes) walked through the crowd of people and grabbed my camera and took a picture of her and me and then KISSED me on each cheek. Check out my pictures, I did not wash my face for a couple of days. It nice to see superstars as nice as she was, Zoe and Mardi Love, what fun we had taking pictures, they are all Beautiful Superstars and made my weekend, I will be on cloud nine for weeks to come. I mean everyone at work said "what are you smiling for"? I am sorry but I have to brag, we had some SUPERSTARS stay at our house, Thats right our friends Sandra, Shana and the Lovely Selena. It was such an HONOR to have these ladies (SUPERSTARS) stay with us. If was so much fun and I loved babing, pampering, cooking, serving, driving, and being a bodyguard LOL. They are the best, I just want all of them to move into my house and I would love to do this for them all the time, I have to say I was in AH all weekend. I mean Shana WOW, I mean Sandra WOW, and then Selena WOW. I'm in HEAVEN. So please wake me up. Oh ya and the Lovely Donna, who I enjoy doing this for all the time. I Love you all.

Well I know I write a lot of stuff about people and post a lot of pictures and comments. But this is my first blog and I would like to wish the LOVE OF MY LIFE a very happy birthday. As the song goes "Have I told you lately that I love you, I place no one above you". I know I write to all my friends (Girls) about being superstars, But you are my true SUPERSTAR and thanks for being with me all these years, you are my life. I hope you have a great day On August 16. I will call your Mom and Dad and thank them for bring you into this world and then letting me steal you 28 years ago, You are special and I cant want to see you everyday when I get home from work. Its funny after 28 years how its still Puppy Love. Well I am just talking in circle and I will write a Book about you so I better stop. So just HAPPY BIRTHDAY and have a great day. It isn't about who you're dating, who you used to date, how many people you've dated, or if you haven't been with anyone at all. It isn't about whom you have kissed; it isn't about who your family is or how much money they have or what kind of car you drive. Or where you are sent to school. It's not about how beautiful or ugly you are. Or what clothes you wear, what shoes you have on, or what kind of music you listen to. It's not about if your hair is blonde, red, black, or brown, or if your skin is too light or too dark. Not about what grades you get how smart you are, how smart everybody else thinks you are, or how smart standardized tests say you are. It's not about what clubs you're in or how good you are at "your" sport. It's not about representing your whole being on a piece of paper and seeing who will "accept the written you." Life just isn't. Life Is But, life is about whom you love and whom you hurt. It's about whom you make happy or unhappy purposefully. It's about keeping or betraying trust. It's about friendship, used as a sanctity or a weapon. It's about what you say and mean, maybe hurtful, maybe heartening. About starting rumors and contributing to petty gossip. It's about what judgments you pass and why. And whom your judgments are spread to. It's about whom you've ignored with full control and intention. It's about jealousy, fear, ignorance, and revenge. It's about carrying inner hate and love, letting it grow and spreading it.
