about me
I have been a Face and Body Painter for almost 20 years. I started painting faces at renaissance festivals: dragons, fairies and Mardi Gras- styled masks.
Then, I started to paint bodies at pagan festivals, Mardi Gras in New Orleans and eventually at Fantasy Fest in Key West, Florida. I have painted in Jamaica at Hedonism II and in Hawaii at Firetribe Festival among other scenes. I love the pagan festivals and have attended many including: Starwood, Earth Drum Council, Rites of Spring, Freespirit, Celebrate the Spirit, Firedance, Spiritfire, Pagan Spirit Gathering, AutumnMeet, Winterstar, Firedance, Spiritfire, AHO! and more.
I love to dance and have been active in Dance New England, as a facilitator for Dance Freedom as well as a teacher at Dance Camp for years.
I love to sing, though my voice is just okay. I have been compiling pagan chants for a few years and love to sing with others at fire circles.
I have a beautiful, amazing and joyful 6-month-old son named Ethan. My partner, Rodger and I are overjoyed to have such an amazingly blissful being in our lives. He loves drums and dancing and has been to quite a few festivals already.
I also do batik and tie-dyes. I am recently getting into silk painting and love it. Rodger is a masterful tie-dye artist who works mostly on silk and does beautiful mandalas.
But... my real love (artistically) is body paint. I have done more and more full body (and torsoe) art in recent years, including a few art shows with "living canvases" in NY called "Rude and Bold Women".
I have a website with all kinds of info and pictures. Check it out at www.BodyArtByShara.com

My Blog

Life just keeps speeding along. I checked in with Tribe for the first time in months... realized how long its been since I posted here. I have been, alternately, in the groove of "Super Mama" and completely overwhelmed with my 4+ years of sleep deprivation and nursing two toddlers. I think longingly of the days when there were two adults (Rodger and I) to one child (Ethan). I am soooo happy and soooo proud of my children. I wouldn't give up a minute of the past few years, watching them... read more

She is just starting to be all kinds of fun: cooing and smiling, making eye contact, grabbing and gripping and starting to move her body a... read more
