Above all, I strive to see things as they are, live harmoniously with the earth, be closely connected to the things that sustain me, and care for those around me as much as I care for myself. I spend an hour of every day in meditation. I love to travel, and I absolutely fucking love music (both playing and listening). I have lived on farms and communes, my whole life. I am currently living at a commune in Virginia called Twin Oaks (go to www.twinoaks.org, if you want to know more about it). I am trying desperately to wean myself off a lifestyle that requires others to suffer in order for me to be happy. I believe that one can never be truly free from oppression if their freedom relies on the oppression of others. And I believe that freedom is possible, if we are willing to learn how to live a lifestyle that embodies it.
