For my halloween party last night, I had planned on doing something. My something ended up as nothing choreographed but still enjoyed!

Unfinished hair stick

But for the stick, this is a hair stick. I combined some of the leaves from the black poppy floral pick, some baby black poppies, and some red poppies and wired them all together. I have to pick up a hair stick - I had a really pretty chopstick that I was planning on using but in the process of attempting to utilize it as a hair stick, I broke it instead. Ah well - live and learn.

This is actually three blooms off a larger bush that I trimmed down and hot glued to a barrette. I have two of these for the base of my neck.

This is a shot of the whole necklace - but for some reason, the coins aren't very clear.

Completed Belt

The completed belt had a few additions - I added some buttons near the bottom and they are there so I can hang the tassels from them. That way, the weight of the tassels doesn't continuously pull on the belt. I can store them separately.

Coin Bra

The coin bra has two rows of Ukrainian coins - 10 and 25. Over top of that, I'm wearing a very plain Turkish vest - the only adornment is the row of dangles that I've sewn all around the bottom edge.

Finished Costume

I think I'm going to be presenting myself as "Elenka - the last of the Ukrainian Amazons." Funny though - the tassels are really more green in person than the teal they are in the picture.

Bra in Progress

So far, so good. It's a snug fit but those girls aren't going anywhere. It's going to have a turkish vest over top - so the back is without decoration.

"Finished Belt"

I disassembled almost the entire thing and added some waist-shaping darts along the top edge so now it doesn't gap at all! Next thing to add are some long lengths of red and green ribbon - they would be part of a traditional Ukrainian girl's costume and fixes the problem of not being long enough. Still going!

Covered Bra

Using Embellished Bras: Basic Techniques by Dawn Devine Brown, I covered my first bra. This was rather labor intensive in that everything was hand-sewn, but I am pleased with it. This will be the bra that coordinates with the belt-in-progress.
