about me
It's been an amazing year! In July of '08 I turned 60 and realized that my life was 75 % over.. And so many things I had not done!!
I spent several months thinking..meditating... seeking answers to some health problems.. and dreaming and freeing myself from unnecessary obligations. By January I was ready to make some changes.. I decided I wanted to have passion for my work, and a life that allowed me more freedom. And that meant leaving my job as a real estate broker for the past 22 years, and selling my house to fund a new passion.. The questions came up: you're selling your house in the worst RE market we' ve ever seen leaving your job and looking for work in the worst job market in your lifetime?? Are you nuts?? But a dear friend I ran into at the grocery store said something i will never forget. She told me that when she felt like running away from life she just "turned and faced it head on" So that's what I did .. and it was amazingly empowering.. I consulted my stars made my plans and prayed..I listed my house on April 6th, got an offer on May 4th and moved out on June 3rd..The adventure had begun!! My background is in teaching and counseling and have always been a foodie so I wanted to put it all together. By August 25th I had graduated from the Living Light Culinary Arts Institute as an Associate Chef and Instructor in Gourmet Raw Foods, and completed an appenticeship in their commercial Raw Foods kitchen, became a Certified Food Safety manager, attended an amazing Vibrant Living expo, created a new business name and got a website in the works and have had a huge amount of fun ! In the next few years I am moving towards greater independence and sustainability. I intend to grow most of what I eat, trade for the rest, live close to the source, teach about healthy food choices and preparation, use my intuitive gifts and grow Meyer Lemons! I am still in flux learning sooo much, and not yet decided just where I will land for the long term but am happily house sitting until October on the gorgeous Northern California coast. If you'd like.drop me a line and we can chat about heathy eating, planetary changes, how humans heal, finding YOUR passion in life !!
