Time to sell the car!
(blog entry)
Well, I moved to Canada, and researched all the forms and procedures and fuss with registering my US car in Canada, and discovered it costs a lot of money. And I don't have a lot of money. And that's just to make it eligible to be registered; that...

NorWesCon!
(blog entry)
Yay!!! Made it, intact even. Didn't make it to NorWesCon last year, we had to save our money for WorldCon in LA.
Haven't seen much yet, couldn't take off too much time from work, but got the hotel room, badges, and a panel schedule to work, wit...

New years plans, anyone?
(blog entry)
I just found out I have a babysitter starting 7 pm on New Years Eve; anything going on that I can attend? I like to get out of the house now and then...but i'm too shy to go anywhere by myself.
Or anyone wanna come over? It'd have to be low-key...

And that's just to make it eligible to be registered; that doesn't include the actual monthly registration / insurance costs after that.
Another point: it was very snowy here over the Dec-Jan holidays, and I discovered that the bus system is actually very handy and it's easy to get to work by bus.
Con...

Take it from someone of Cajun heritage, this place is great! I was raised on Cajun food, but didn't like the climate so moved to the Pacific Northwest. And I can't stand to cook myself. So I missed all that awesome food my mother would make for me: beignets every Saturday morning, hush puppies now and then, and of course crawfish all over ...

Having lunch with the grandparents who live nearby so little bit can visit with them and get more Easter goodies!
Trips are mixed blessings. I packed my bag on Thursday night, and about 1 am Friday morning, on a dark ...

Or anyone wanna come over? It'd have to be low-key, child friendly.

Tomorrow I get to fly to and from Pendelton, and drive round trip from the Pendelton airport to La Grande for work. I've never been in a small plane, this should be interesting. I have a new (used) camera to bring. However, i can get _very_ motion sick, especially when i try to focus my eyes during motion, and so we'll see. I always make sure i know where the barf bag is, however my motion sickness usually just stays in my head. If you've never had nausea in your head, i recommend avoiding it...

SciurusQuercus is a very intelligent, dynamic person with lots of energy. She has a quick wit, and a sharp eye for hidden bits of nature out in the field. Animals, especially amphibians, fascinate her. She approaches life with strong integrity, and approaches her work with much energy and focus. She has inspired me to be a better person, and I feel fortunate to have met her. I can attribute parts of my success as a writer and illustrator to the level of dedication she has shown for her own pursuits, a dedication that is energizing. She also helped me believe in myself more, and this self-esteem boost has been of great benefit to me over the dozen years that I have known her. I owe a great debt to her for giving me strong pointers in the pursuit of the many important things in my life. When times have been challenging, she has offered some of the most simple and elegant solutions for getting through the situation. She is a very good friend to have around. She is a remarkable woman. :o)
