</a>
										<div>Our little princess, she was born on April 20th (yes, a 4/20 baby, for those of you who might like to toke up in celebration). A healthy 7 pounds 7 ounces.

She was born safely and gently at home, after a labor that went all in good time, without a hitch, nor any complications. Izzy was born into a gentle and loving atmosphere, safe and cozy. I never had a moment of doubt or fear - my body was perfect in knowing exactly what it needed to do - deep moaning sounds, intuitive movements...this body is an amazing machine.

And Isabella is delightful, perfect, and totally adorable. We are pretty glad she chose us to come through onto this Earth at this critical time. We're here for you girl!!</div>

										<div>(Caption: A naked man confronts Japanese police officers after dipping in the Imperial Palace moat in Tokyo.)

No, it's not the fact that there's a naked guy that makes this picture totally bizarre. What's really weird and mind-boggling is how horribly reactive and violent the police force is -- simply because a man is naked.

Something's very, very wrong.

										<div>Happy Housewife? Or Domestic Goddess?

Well, some kind of belly dancing, big-breasted, Earthy, baby-growing Mama to be sure!

I'm nesting, big time!

If you know me in person, you know that I generally leave a mess behind, trailing dust and scraps of food as I walk this world. I am not a cleanly child. It was tough growing up with those ultra-sanitary Virgo parents, y'know, when I'm more like a Princesse Sauvage.

I am on a mission to destroy dust in our tiny little home! I bought a vacuum cleaner for the first time in my life (usually I borrow from neighbors for my infrequent cleaning jaunts). I bought a feather duster! I even scored a HEPA air filtration unit at Goodwill for $11.25!!!

Now my little home feels cleaner. It won't pass no white glove test, but it's pretty good for my shoddy standards. :) Maybe I won't wake up with a stuffy nose every morning... I'm sure the dust and cobwebs did not help that.

Cheers!

Being Pregnant, It's All About Food

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/f5b62fdc-dbe2-4c64-ae68-63dbe6452722/blog/31623cdf-a16c-4a39-952e-59438fcb8ca1">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/74b/1b9/74b1b995-7467-4c05-a1bd-b1045e9eedbd.thumb" width="65" height="64" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>For me anyway, that's how it is.

Right from the start, it was "I can't eat anything, my stomach is acidy. I'm nauseated. I need to eat but I have no appetite."

Now it's "I'm so hungry, but nothing sounds good. Today I want pasta, peanut butter and bread. That's all I can eat."

No wait, actually it's "I'm so hungry, but all I can stand is salad, pineapple and vegetable juice. But none of it is filling enough, so I better eat some bread and peanut butter."

I can't even remember what it was like pre-pregnancy, back when I could go hours without eating and feel just fine. Back when I had a vast appetite for a whole variety of foods. Now I seem to have only a narrow range of foods available to my weird appetite everyday. All day long I wonder what I'll be able to eat next.

Oh, and forget going out somewhere for a few hours. I always pack a bag with 5 different snacks, because I'm just never sure what I'll be able to stand eating.

So far, being pregnant is all about my stomach...although I believe something magnanimous is happening just a few inches below...</div>

Check it. Beyond Jazz, a weekly music podcast, jam-crammed with amazing house/jazz/funk/soul/hip-hop music. I personally like the dance and house episodes better than the hip-hop, but there's a little for everyone.

Best of all, it's created in Belgium, so the announcer speaks a smooth, delicious Dutch that makes me want to put a little extra cream in my coffee, if ya know what I mean. An incomprehensible language that somehow sounds sooooooooo good. </div>

    </a>
										<div>Hurrah!
The nausea, puking and fatigue are just about done! They still hit me occasionally, but it passes quickly. Last night I had a great burst of energy, put on some funky music, and danced!! My own living room dance party. Shaking my hips, wiggling out the tension in my back. It was so wonderful.

Belly dance, and other hip-moving movements are great for pregnant women, and I know plenty of women use those kinds of gyrations to get through labor. Just another reason NOT to be confined to a hospital bed!

Anyway, my belly is poking out more. It seems to have grown quite obviously in the past week. There's no denying it now...I'm no longer thick around the middle, but pregnant. It's pretty fun to not have to think about "sucking my belly in," and rather just let it proudly all hang out.

Still looking for a midwife...the one I want says she's too busy, but maybe can fit me in. I'm waiting to hear on that. The other midwife group I spoke with were very kind and competent, but I was not impressed by their 15-20% transport-to-hospital rate. Sorry, but if I'm paying a midwife, it's cuz I don't want to be in a hospital! Emergencies, sure...but 15-20% of women don't have emergencies! So that bothered me quite a bit. Let's hope for the best midwife I can find.

Otherwise, I'm having no wild spiritual pregnancy experiences. So far it's all in the physical realm. The critter's there inside me, but I don't feel it moving yet. I'm still more focused on getting good foods and exercise...the material world. There's a soul hovering around here, but I can't say we've been formally introduced yet.

Oh yeah, and I've got a craving for root beer, which I haven't had in at least 12 years. But we go for the high-end stuff from the health food store. YUM!

And that's the story so far! </div>

    </a>
										<div>I'm pregnant now,
About 2 1/2 months.
Mostly I've been paying attention to my stomach
and the nausea and vomiting
that happens almost everyday.

And the plague of heartburn
has distracted me from the
fact of the matter
that I'm growing a little life.

I hardly notice the miracle
when all I feel is sick.

But my belly is undeniably bigger,
harder and firm.
And my pants are all too tight,
low around my hips,
belly sticking out.

And growing Little Buns
reminds me of my mortality.
All this being sick
makes me think of death
and how sick I may be at the End.

And how I'm creating another little life
that will also one day be sick and one day die.

And yet I'm so attached to this little one
that I can't even dream of making it
End or go away.</div>

    </a>
										<div>I’m a joyful vegetarian but I don’t begrudge other people the right to eat meat. After all, I do believe that different blood types thrive on different diets, and I have many friends who hate the thought of slaughter, but literally become ill if they don’t eat occasional meat.

I propose, then, compassionate meat. Whole Foods has already set high industry standards for ensuring that the animals are not only raised chemical-free, but with a reasonably high quality of life. These animals are given more care, space and hygiene than in your typical factory farm.

Why should this matter? Because all stress, pain and fear translate into hormones released into the meat. Besides, it’s bad karma. There are ways to painlessly slaughter animals while showing them respect and gratitude.

A friend of mine told me about a trip to Nepal in which she saw yaks slaughtered in a very caring and relaxed manner. The side of the throat was slit, in a place where the animal felt no pain, and as the blood flowed the yak slowly went to sleep. There’s absolutely no excuse to put animals in a state of utter fear and trauma in their final moments of life. It is just not necessary.

If you’re a meat eater then I humbly ask that you become more aware of inhumane factory farm practices and then choose to support the compassionate alternative. And please spread the word, because creating more stress and pain on the planet – especially that of the helpless animals in our care – is neither sustainable nor good for the human soul.

The reason I write this is because the reality is that most of the people on the planet do eat meat. In my ideal reality I'd prefer that no animals ever get killed, but the actual reality is that for the moment, they are. So rather than agitate meat-eaters and make them hate the word "vegetarian," I prefer to offer a compromise and an alternative.

Therefore, I accept that for the time-being most people eat meat. What I don't accept is the brutality and heavy trauma of the process. If we can start by changing this, then we've achieved a huge leap in consciousness. And consciousness builds upon itself.</div>

The Melting Pot of Healing

    </a>
										<div>The United States. There's one thing we can say for certain about this country: it is truly the most cultural and racially diverse country in the entire world. And this is no accident. The big cosmic reason for the existence of this country is for HEALING.

There has been so much pain, warfare, stealing and killing done between one race and another. It's not just whites vs blacks, but spreads out much further. There's so much that is too taboo to talk about -- but we need to bring these issues up. We need to feel the shame, the pain and the anger. We need to speak about it like adults.

We've got to start with a public apology to the Iraqi people. We've got to allow black people to be angry about their ancestral slavery -- so that they may own their own power again. We have to apologize to the Native Americans. The British have to apologize to the Irish. The list goes on and on. It just has to happen. Even I feel shame for racism -- and I am a first-generation American with Iranian ancestry, so it's not as if it was my personal ancestors doing any of the "bad stuff" on this continent. Yet, because it's here, I feel it. I even feel judgmental and racist against my own Iranian-Americans! I never want to talk to them! I guess one day I'll have to tell them why.

I myself feel scared to walk up to Navajo or blacks and start a conversation. Guilt is too deeply interwoven in this culture. And the ONLY WAY to heal it is to talk about it, with total candor. Openly, honestly. Let the tears flow. Let your cheeks flush with the shame of judgment. I mean, REALLY FEEL IT. There are a lot of feelings that have been repressed. Be real. And then, only the, can healing begin.

Like the Native American Medicine Wheel, with the colors Red, Black, Yellow and White -- all the races must eventually come together and realize we're all One on the Earth. But first, the healing.

Where to begin? I'm not exactly sure. But a public Presidential apology is a good start. And then, I guess I'll have to notice judgment in myself, and perhaps apologize to the people I've been judging. It's not easy, but healing never really is.

The Garden of Eden's Tantra

    </a>
										<div>Here we go. The Garden of Eden begins with Women making Peace with the Animals. Does it not?

When the needless killing and fear/domination of animals stops, and the Power of Feminine Divinity reaches the Soul Upwards...then the men must needs be humbled and inclined towards Awakened Masculinity.

All worlds: Animal, Vegetable &amp; Mineral...uniting within us. Are we not made of blood and muscle? Do we not feast upon the plants? Surely we contain within us iron, calcium, magnesium and copper. The minerals are interwoven into the human body as well.

I see this Double Helix of Femininity &amp; Masculinity, weaving themselves upwards, brilliantly beaded in some sort of Peyote Stitch, tubing themselves together in glimmering fashion.

Masculine &amp; Feminine is not the End-All-Be-All, but rather a step along the path...towards Woven Union.

Tantra.</div>

    </a>
										<div>Reposted from NPR: Morning Edition, March 28, 2008
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=89164759

Julio Diaz has a daily routine. Every night, the 31-year-old social worker ends his hour-long subway commute to the Bronx one stop early, just so he can eat at his favorite diner.

But one night last month, as Diaz stepped off the No. 6 train and onto a nearly empty platform, his evening took an unexpected turn.

He was walking toward the stairs when a teenage boy approached and pulled out a knife.

"He wants my money, so I just gave him my wallet and told him, 'Here you go,'" Diaz says.

As the teen began to walk away, Diaz told him, "Hey, wait a minute. You forgot something. If you're going to be robbing people for the rest of the night, you might as well take my coat to keep you warm."

The would-be robber looked at his would-be victim, "like what's going on here?" Diaz says. "He asked me, 'Why are you doing this?'"

Diaz replied: "If you're willing to risk your freedom for a few dollars, then I guess you must really need the money. I mean, all I wanted to do was get dinner and if you really want to join me ... hey, you're more than welcome.

"You know, I just felt maybe he really needs help," Diaz says.

Diaz says he and the teen went into the diner and sat in a booth.

"The manager comes by, the dishwashers come by, the waiters come by to say hi," Diaz says. "The kid was like, 'You know everybody here. Do you own this place?'"

"No, I just eat here a lot," Diaz says he told the teen. "He says, 'But you're even nice to the dishwasher.'"

Diaz replied, "Well, haven't you been taught you should be nice to everybody?"

"Yea, but I didn't think people actually behaved that way," the teen said.

Diaz asked him what he wanted out of life. "He just had almost a sad face," Diaz says.

The teen couldn't answer Diaz — or he didn't want to.

When the bill arrived, Diaz told the teen, "Look, I guess you're going to have to pay for this bill 'cause you have my money and I can't pay for this. So if you give me my wallet back, I'll gladly treat you."

The teen "didn't even think about it" and returned the wallet, Diaz says. "I gave him $20 ... I figure maybe it'll help him. I don't know."

Diaz says he asked for something in return — the teen's knife — "and he gave it to me."

Afterward, when Diaz told his mother what happened, she said, "You're the type of kid that if someone asked you for the time, you gave them your watch."

"I figure, you know, if you treat people right, you can only hope that they treat you right. It's as simple as it gets in this complicated world."

Sensuality in Product Design

    </a>
										<div>I speak here of a product design given to groups of women aged 18-30. The design is for pagers, and two designs are supposed to work with different ideas of sensuality. It's a long page, but scroll down to see the design differences.

http://sigchi.org/chi96/proceedings/desbrief/Hofmeester/ghh_txt.htm

The first design is soft, mysterious, had light-up a petroglyph-type symbols (a bird, a snake, a couple holding hands) in order to communicate different nuances into your messages, as well as iPod-style slide controls, which generate feelings of softness. My own response to it is that I felt closer to the Earth and to the feminine mysteries. I didn't need to communicate using words on this pager, I could choose a symbol and allow the vastness of poetry to take over.

The second design is based on the idea of fleshiness (as another form of sensuality), and looks like a throbbing red penis. It's quite repulsive presented in such a fleshy, disembodied way. The pager is hard, red and bulgy and uses push-button controls and makes beeping noises. Ugh. It's oriented very much in the idea of the physical body and the fleshy world.

I guess you can decide which pager I'd choose -- most certainly the first one...as it offers access to the profound mysteries of symbolism, a sort of ethereal telepathy aided by small technological tools. The other one reminded me of the 3-dimensional world limitation, focusing only on the body, the flesh, the material reality...and paying no heed to the Spirit (the poetry, the intuition) imbuing the life within all things.

    </a>
										<div>I've just begun working at an Indian Trading Post in Sedona, wild-west style, with antlers, bones, furs and skins, as well as beads, pottery, woven rugs, and turquoise and silver jewelry.

It has been an interesting few days, as I observe and absorb the space without judgment. When walking past bearskins or coyote pelts, I run my fingers through them and admire their beauty. No, I do not condone killing animals for a reason as silly as the fur. People make the argument that there are "too many" wolves, and there are various interesting nuances to the argument (it's not as black and white as you may think). And in all honesty, are there really "too many" of them? Or rather so many of us that we've crowded them.

Also, there are many who feel the power of the animal through the artifacts, the furs and claws, teeth and bones, bring a kind of union with that animal's spirit. And yet, I wonder, why not unite with the animal alive?

Can't you just imagine the disbelief..."Walk with a wolf? Stand with a bear? Are you out of your mind?"

But really, why not? In our hunger and aggression, we project the predator and the prey, the hunter and the hunted. Why not allies, powerful being together?

I literally do see it (even feel it in my bones) the women walking with wolves, standing with the bears. Women of snakes and spiders, Divine. Communion with wild animals in a way so deep...as primitive as moon blood, as instinctual as a baby sucking on the breast. Yes, I feel it: laying down with the wolf, hairy and toothed, yet so much in a state of Peace and Personal Power that all viciousness is gone. In fact, it never existed.

Isn't It Enough To Be A Dreamer?

    </a>
										<div>Lately I've found it exceedingly difficult to get anything done. What I mean is "accomplish" something, like take a project and tend to it from start to finish. I have a lot of great ideas, I make a few starts...but very few of these ideas make it to completion. I've been like this for years, actually.

I'm quite intelligent, curious and well-educated...but I just don't have a lot of drive or ambition. Do I really need to? Do I need to work hard and strive to achieve, like so many others in the world? Isn't it good enough to be a Dreamer?

There have been so many times that I've attempted things, put forth a lot of energy, and literally watched my efforts dissolve into nothingness. So...why keep trying? It's tiring. I prefer to live a good and simple life, with simple needs and the joys of nature. I live quite well in my own dreams. Cast adrift upon my own ocean, I swim with dolphins -- in the world's big ocean, I'd drown.</div>

    </a>
										<div>We have always existed as light. We can be nothing but the expression of light. We herald from the suns behind the suns, the light behind the light. We are your reflection as we are your beginning. We are all that has ever existed and all that has been birthed into form throughout time. And thus we are one with you as we are one with all. You may recognize our essence as the sun, the star, and the being-ness known as Alcyone a light within the Pleiadian Star System.

We are referred to in text as the Great Beings of Light that escorted humanity into an echelon and a ladder of genetic difference. We come forth on this day to reflect to you portions of yourself that have been long hidden within your own human shadow. We come to reflect to you the trueness of your beauty and abilities. you are a species that is caught up in the whirlwind of healing, fixing, deleting, and letting go, a daily regiment of releasing.

You each represent a universe, that has had amnesia and has forgotten its way home. Your body holds within it trillions of galaxies and constellations that represent all of the livingness that you have incarnated as. Your earth is a host to all of these myriad of universes that expedite themselves into fullness thru all means possible.

You are galactic beings of unimagined proportion. As 2008 enters your veins you will find that you have more control over your creations, your environment, your feelings, your needs, your wants, then you have ever imagined or even wanted. In the past you have felt that you fell victim to life's whims and desires, but in the upcoming year Life will respond to you with a renewed vigor.

As the universe that you are, it is time to tie up the loose ends and cut away the frills of being stationary and inept in your so-called humanness. The light that comes forth emanating and radiating from the Sun -- is from the star -- Alcyone. It shone during the shifts in Atlantis, in Lemuria, and in Ancient Egypt. It was worshipped by the Mayans, Anastazi and Sumerians alike.

the earth comes full circle and is ready to receive its pulsation's and emanations again. Alcyone reaches down and gently gathers. It gathers every iota of you that is fractured and it makes it complete. It gathers DNA that is thin and frail and it makes it strong and vibrant. It gathers cells of sadness and it brings them joy. It gathers all parts of you into a point that can only begin creation. It is a point of love.

Secede from the union of all that you have known to be limitations and become a sovereign nation of light unto yourselves. DO NOT wait on your city, your councils, your family, and your government to become unified. You are a complete entity onto your self. You are a complete unified field of light. There is nothing that is fractured or broken within your existence except, as you perceive it to be. step back from the pain and the isolation and look fully at who and what you represent.

You are here as Emissaries of Light, as Ambassadors of the Creator. You are not here to putt about, to grow frail and old and diseased. You are here to grasp completion and see in totality – why you have existed at all. You are not here to be in pain, to be unloved, to be abused, to be poor, these are all time consuming habits. There is nothing that you cannot accomplish. There is nothing that you cannot create. There is nothing that you cannot heal. You effect and affect everything. Everything in your world hears you. Livingness hears your thoughts, your angers, and your sadness'. It hears your in-completion.

You are beings that have forgotten their vastness. If you are to save this world as you have so incarnated to do, you must begin with yourself. You are not a victim to anything or anyone unless you decree it is so. You have forgotten the totality of your being.

Ask everyday to be infused with the remembrance of 'who' in truth you are. Allow yourself to become that component of light that has existed through all space and time. You are a grand light that cannot be destroyed. Wake up to who you are.

You have but a few earthen years and experiences left before the tides turn in a direction that you might not want to experience. You are the beginning and the end. You are the alpha and omega. You cannot exist any other way except in fullness of your light and in 2008 that will become your reality.

Speak as a God. Think as a God. Allow not the distractions of your day, humanness, or body to own you and enslave you in such a fashion that it belittles the very creation of who you are. Step outside of the body and observe it as a vehicle that you instruct, a vehicle that transports you through space and time in every way and in every thought.

Where your thoughts are is where you dwell, look at it as your creation address. This address then becomes your quantified universe and defined field of light. Redefine who you are to yourself and then it will follow as the day and the night that you are re-defined in every cell of your body, in every level of your life, and in every document that has ever recorded your life, your birth, and your death.

You are the center of the universe. Do not take that lightly. For where you stand in your thinking, in your self, in your construction of circumstances -- ripples out through all existence. It affects your past and present and your future. It is only by your own awakening that you issue that decree on a cellular, stellar fashion to all of life. Stop whining and see how grand you are.

After the dust settles, and we return to our Homes, we will find much infrastructure and Raw materials to work with. Every Soul creation is valid as Art.

Our Sweet Village awaits. We have only to Walk into it, step ahead one stride, submit Ourselves to its iridescence.

										<div>Mexican sweetheart, dancing the Cumbia with me, but intellectually whispering mind-expanding truths into my ear! O, mi amor!

La Santa Cecilia made me twirl my skirts dancing, filled up the room with a younger crowd who knows and adores the Latino music pumping from every father's car and every grandmother's apartment window...but oh with such a delightful, candy twist.

http://www.myspace.com/lasantacecilia

They rocked out with a cumbia version of Manu Chao's "Desaparecido," which was finger-lickin', singin-to-the-crowd luscious, if you know what I mean.

For the internationalist music lover in you, these lovelies are the flavor! Note: their live show far outweighs their demo on MySpace...have faith, you will be rewarded!</div>

    </a>
										<div>ANOTHER VICTORY FOR THE LIGHT!

Last night, a federal judge struck down a waiver issued by the
White House that would have exempted the U.S. Navy from obeying
a key environmental law during sonar training exercises that
endanger whales.

In doing so, the court affirmed the bedrock principle that we do
NOT live under an imperial presidency. Both the White House and
the military must obey and uphold our environmental laws.

Here's a great segment about our victory from today's "Morning
Edition" on National Public Radio:
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=18689650

President Bush's waiver was a last-ditch attempt to let the Navy
unleash an onslaught of military sonar off the coast of southern
California -- home to five endangered species of whales --
without taking precautions to protect marine mammals from a
lethal bombardment of sound.

Last month, the same judge -- U.S. District Judge Florence-Marie
Cooper -- ordered the Navy to put safeguards in place during the
sonar maneuvers in order to protect marine mammals from needless
injury and death. Shortly after that ruling, President Bush
issued his "emergency" waiver, attempting to override the
court's order.

In last night's ruling, Judge Cooper called the Navy's so-called
emergency "a creature of its own making," and reaffirmed that
the military can train effectively without needlessly harming
whales.

The Navy's maneuvers would take place near the Channel Islands
-- one of the world's most sensitive marine environments. The
Navy itself estimates that the booming sonar would harass or
harm marine mammals some 170,000 times -- and cause permanent
injury in more than 400 cases.

The far-reaching precautions imposed on the Navy by Judge Cooper
include a ban on mid-frequency sonar within 12 miles of the
California coast -- a zone that is heavily used by migrating
whales and dolphins -- and between the Channel Islands.

Plastic Bags Taxed in Ireland, Now a Social Stigma

    </a>
										<div>New York Times reported Ireland's governmental decision to charge a 33cent tax on all plastic bags. This was a countrywide choice, and within weeks, 94% of people had their own reusable bags. After a year, it is now a social stigma to use plastic bags, and almost everyone has reusable bags stashed in their car, house, purse, wherever.

Plastic bags are not outlawed in Ireland, but it's so undesirable to use them that people feel motivated to make a change. Almost nobody wants to be seen as a plastic bag user. All it took was a little motivation through minor monetary discomfort. It's a simple principle, and it works.

										<div>A Sirian message, posted January 16 states:

"The Forces of Light have not come this far to be defeated when victory is in their grasp. The outer signs do not fully indicate what is truly taking place behind the scenes. The Galactic Federation are assembled and fully ready to fulfill their plan for First Contact, and immediately they are authorized to go ahead, many events will open up to you."

Also on January 16, NPR reports dozens of people, including a veteran pilot and a police officer, spot a huge mothership moving very quickly across the sky over Stephenville, TX.

										<div>This blows me away. Chicken John's Cafe Racer runs on walnut shells and coffee grounds. The engine is unmodified, but you have to build a "gasifier", which cools the hydrogen gas and feeds it to the engine, which runs just like it was gasoline. Seems pretty lo-tech and fairly easy to build.

It's brilliant. Solve the petroleum problem with the trash problem. Spread the word about this. The more people who know, the better!
