February 5, 2007
Hello - I would like to tell everyone about Heidi's mini-workshop at my dance studio! I had seen Heidi's troupe The Bedouin perform at a couple of events. Right away I noticed Heidi's beautiful approach to hands and arms. I decided that it would be most beneficial for my students to learn hands and arms from her (and me too!) so we set up a mini workshop with her for that. Heidi is a knowledgeable instructor with a great deal of dance experience in several different genres. My students responded well to her, and I enjoyed especially her introduction to some Indo hands called hastas. I will be incorporating that into my troupe choreography as well! It was very interesting to see how Tribal Fusion hands and arms differ from how I teach them and also learn a bit about the history of Tribal Fusion. I encourage anyone who is interested in Tribal Fusion Bellydance to attend a class or workshop with Heidi.
Sincerely, Nerissa Hannah-Meyer

Don't take it from me!, Listen to what these Ladies have to say....

"Mira Betz! Herewe go! She's technically amazing. But let's not start there. She's exciting, emotional, and "real" all at the same time. In my opinion she is one of the most understated bellydancers in the US (although I heard she's quite famous in Alabama:-) Her workshops are precise, well planned and I guarentee she will make you think differently. That's what I love the most about her work, she's not afraid to share her ideas. Let the secrets die in someone else's tomb, Mira Betz is sharing now. I love that." Amy Sigil, of Unmata

"Yes, Mira. Lessee...Mira transcends any 'label' that has been attached to bellydance. I believe any dancer, of any style, can truly benefit from this very talented and graceful performer. My butt and brain still hurt from her Shimmy Workshop!" Zoe Jakes

The multi-faceted career of Mira Betz is a testament to her passionate
artistry and desire to for continual growth. Mira began her training in
Middle Eastern dance as a young teen studying primarily with Katarina
Burda for over 10 years, where she developed a solid foundation of
contemporary, traditional, as well as ritualistic dance forms. In 1996 she
studied with Jamila Salimpour and Suhaila Salimpour. In 1998 Mira went
abroad to live and study in Morocco. Active in theater, dance and the
performing arts for 20 years, Mira Betz has become a sought after dancer,
choreographer, costumer, and teacher—confirmed by her nomination of
"Instructor of the Year" by Zaghareet Magazine 2006.
Mira Betz received her B.F.A. from the California College of Arts and
Crafts. Her dance background includes training in Salsa, Modern, Jazz, and
Flamenco. Mira continues to spread her experience, knowledge and love for
dance through her captivating performance and engaging teaching style.
