about me
I'm a mom, belly dancer, stained glass artist and all around swell gal. I like long walks on the beach, bubble baths, badgers and anything else that starts with the letter "B". I love to cook and spend some time each summer camping. I am an avid reader and can't live without good music and my drums. I am happily driven to create.

Re: Penn-Renn... how was it! (in Erie PA Bellydance) I wish I had brought a camera! Sadly it was in my other vehicle back in SC.

Vikki did a wonderful job! She danced as a solo performer while Hipnosis (i think that was their name) danced ATS. It was all to live music, which was dynamic and fu... read more

Random Thoughts

...the seedy internet cafe in Tralee anyway! I really don't like our current B&B which is giving us a lot of excuses to not be there. We took a gorgeous and at times harrowing drive around the Dingle Penninsula today. Lots of beautiful pics but no way to upload them right now.

We are heading up to County Clare now for two days...then it's back to Boston, pick up the car, drive to NJ pick up the kid, and drive to PA.

And make pots, pots, pots in time to leave for Pennsic. But I'd r... read more

Whew! What a drive- and I was only the passenger. Of course, I AM on the left side of the car...the side closest to the wall/foliage/foliage-covered wall/lake/cliff. He only has to worry about oncoming traffic.

Ye gods what a place the southwestern part of Ireland is. We almost feel as if we've wasted the beginning of the trip because this is absolutely beautiful. All those luscious, green, gorgeous shots of you see on posters and calendars have to be taken out this way. The picture ... read more

We are having a good time...despite the fact that you definitely need a jacket and it rained every day so far. Not a massive downpour...just an annoying grey drizzle here and there. Like Erie in April.

I did see the sun at least once every day. Charlie said "What, do those landscape photographers wait around for that 5 minutes of sun and then take all those lovely, sunny photos of Ireland you see?!" I really do think so.

We toured Dublin on one of those silly, double decker tour bus... read more

So we're heading out today on the first leg of our honeymoon journey- a trip to NJ to drop off my friend Mari who had been staying with us since the wedding. We're also dropping Cathy's luggage since she's staying with my family and getting a ride to NJ from someone else.

Then it's a drive to Boston where we'll take the flight to Ireland. I'm excited- but tired. Planning all this has been exhausting and we still don't have all the details worked out (like a place to sleep for several of... read more

Whew! Here it is only 4 days 'til my wedding (well, the State College wedding anyway)

I'm a little stressed and honestly can't wait for Saturday to get here already. First it seemed like forever until June would come, now it seems like I don't have enough time to finish everything. I think that's just how things like this go.

The weather looks good and I'm thrilled that so many people are coming. It's not a huge affair, but when you're only expecting 50 people, 90 is a big deal!

... and to the below "testimonial" that I wrote for you, I have to add the following: you one one of the single most beautiful, genuine, and REAL human beings I have ever been blessed to meet. I honestly don't know how you do it, Ro, but your attitude, comforting wisdom, and honest advice, have turned me around more than once. You know, it may seem odd, but you remind me a bit of my Mom. You and her would have gotten a long beautifully. You have the same calm, reassuring, yet strong and realistic nature she had. I see that in you, and I think of all the times my Mom said things to me, about what seemed like impossible situations and people, that seemed hopeless... and how you seem to possess the exact same ability she had, to find light and hope in almost everything.

Knowing you, has made me a better person -- having you a part of my life has made it a more "hopeful" place.

"A friend is a loved one who awakens your life in order to free the wild possibilities within you." ~ Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom -- Ro... though we have this annoying thing called DISTANCE, that keeps us from hanging out and keeping each other company, I am comforted in knowing that no matter how far away you are, you are the kind of friend, who is *here* in my life, in all kinds of ways, at all times.

Namaste...

Rowan is one of the most amazing people I know. She's a fabulous artist and dancer. Screw Martha Stewart, Rowan is the hostess with the mostest. She is an incredibly beautiful woman who I am proud to have as both a friend and an inspiration.

The first time I saw Rowan was at the Celebrate Erie Art Festival, in full tribal garb, with her kick ass posse Temple of Bast. Since I had just moved here and looked desparately (with no luck) for any tribal bellydancers, I just about begged her to be friends with me.
OK, I did beg her. LOL
It was also the first time I had seen her dance, and she truly has a domineering stage presence and a wicked goddess grace. Her wacky sense of humor and cool mama attitude makes her a blast to be around. I'm honored to have met her, and I am so thrilled to have met someone else in our community that shares in my enthusiastic obsession of tribal style bellydance. Rowan totally raqs.
