Well, I did it. Still not sure i believe it, but the obvious is hard to ignore or challenge - I'm in Africa.
South Africa, to be exact, but only for another 24 hours. Tommorrow I'm off to Botswana. If all goes well there, it will be my new home for the next couple of years, at the least.
I've been doing lots of research and determined that my best chances for the future lie in actually getting to Africa now, and building up my hours here. If I fly in Bots for a couple years, then maybe ...

Please come buy my stuff!!
I'm leaving this continent and must sell everything I have. It ain't much but the landfill is no place for it.
Please stop by and gawk at the trinkets and other cool stuff, and say goodbye. Final date to score cool stuff for Dirt-Cheap prices in 1/26.
Call my cell to setup a time. I'm in inner SE near 60th and Division. 503.820.8849

Well it seems like the challenges that have defined 2008 for me aren't going to abate just because I'm back in the land of strip malls and 7-11's.
Re-entry from our volunteer work in Peru has been rough, to say the least. I haven't exactly fallen, but I haven't exactly gotten back up either. Saving the world is expensive, as I have come to learn, and not everyone here in the Bay Area seems to comprehend, or tolerate, a gap in employment - no matter what the reason. I have actually had two ...

Count me as one of those people who's bailing on Tribe.net as a social vehicle.
I moved to Facebook this past summer while in Peru. All of my int'l friends are either using hi5 (mostly a Latin America thing) or Facebook so I've been using those tools a lot lately.
With the seemingly endless technical issues and the poor server response times, things just aren't as much fun at Tribe anymore.
The biggest regret is that Tribe has by far the best interface and style. And fewer ads too. ...

… it’s amazing the things you can learn, and the people who help you.
This is my final week in Peru. I’ll be back in the EE.UU soon and in a strange way, I don’t feel as sad as I expected. But then, it seems we learn the most when we confront the unexpected.
I’m spending these last hours saying goodbyes and trying to squeeze the most out of my remaining time. Seems to work best when I just get the hell out of the way and let things unfold. I was in the jungle recently and everything the...
