UGH!
(blog entry)
Tribe is running slowly. True, it's free, but still...
I've been dealing with a dead computer, which is difficult. At any rate, I'm back, but working my backside off. I hope all are well. I hope to see all of you around the tribes.
Just a little patience
(blog entry)
Ugh! I have never asked for, hoped for or wanted patience. As years pass, I acquire a little more of it. The impulse drive tends to slow with each passing burn mark, or scar. Some days, though, when the perfect storm of tired, lonely and worri...

Thanatos

Few things boil my blood like flippant remarks about human life. You see, I used to be one of the people who bought into this "too many people on the planet" stuff. At first, I was pretty well convinced that I brought a lot to the table, talentw...

Getting good news on all fronts. I'm utterly fried, but things went well today. Sometimes, you run across something that turns out to be true in a good way. Well, Ann, a new friend had a blog post of one line about how today was a lucky day. I...

The Grind
(blog entry)
No, not that kind of grind - ok its fun, just not here in public. The grind I'm thinking of is the grind that daily life starts to take when I don't refresh the page every day. Sound familiar?
Today, I took a day off from work. I had to knoc...

Bill says that he's here for YOU, so send him an email. I did, we have become fast friends. Bill has been to the heights and depths and has found a happy balance within himself. He's a great listener, very perceptive and intuitive, though his self-descriptors are slightly more self-effacing than that. So he's humble, yes, and he embraces alternative mindsets. He's stable within himself and able to reach out to others who entertain grand schemes, whether he subscribes to them or not. Bill is a dreamer who follows his dreams with action. He has a gentle way of prodding you so that you see what you might most need to consider. Mostly, I enjoy his cryptic and wry sense of humor that he uses to impress his perspective upon your cloudy vision, so that you see with new eyes.

"Dreams come true; without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them." - John Updike
about me
I'm a pessimistic optimist. I work in Information Technology, but I want to live like a human being without the shackles of technology. I prefer freedom to security and I believe that frequently the two don't coexist. I think things are getting dangerous in the world right now, so I'm interested in lending my coping skills and hoping to learn from people who have skills I don't possess. More than anything else, I'd love to find a group of people who live primitively (as in dropping the garbage we eat and drink, losing the tv and other time wasters, and live in harmony with the rhythms of the earth), and I'd like to connect with them to join in. Until we get back to living like humans, we'll continue to decry the lack of humanity on earth. Think about it, people are dying in Africa because kids in the developed world play a game that uses a metal that has led to wars in Africa. That's sick, and I'm tired of being a part of the problem.

Ugh! I have never asked for, hoped for or wanted patience. As years pass, I acquire a little more of it. The impulse drive tends to slow with each passing burn mark, or scar. Some days, though, when the perfect storm of tired, lonely and worried come together, it is easy to forget that patience is the key to almost everything worthwhile. And as difficult as it is to acquire, it is twice as easy to lose patience.
So I have to remind myself again and again, patience is the key. Through...

Few things boil my blood like flippant remarks about human life. You see, I used to be one of the people who bought into this "too many people on the planet" stuff. At first, I was pretty well convinced that I brought a lot to the table, talentwise and with a decent handle on Weber, Russell, Bentham et. al. Of course, there was also the "Better to rule in hell, than serve in heaven" ethos as well. Then I got to thinking about what kind of talent roster would be in hell - if I believed tha...

Getting good news on all fronts. I'm utterly fried, but things went well today. Sometimes, you run across something that turns out to be true in a good way. Well, Ann, a new friend had a blog post of one line about how today was a lucky day. I asked why after reading it on lunch break. She said she didn't know, but people said it was.
They turned out to be right, those luck mongerers. And once in a while, that's a good thing. Don't get me wrong, I "feel" like dookie inside today. I...

Today, I took a day off from work. I had to knock out some personal problems and get them behind me. But the day off also included a great amount of work on the Alaska Settlement Project, and some fun chats with friends in the 3rd dimension, as well as here in the digitethereal. All in all, it w...
