after 2 years, I can finally shoulder hoop!!!
EEHEEHEE!!! After 2 years, I learned how to shoulder hoop today! I learned it using the <a href="www.youtube.com/watch point bellydance method</a>, instead of trying to do it like the gal on the <a href="www.amazon.com/HoopDance-...t;Hoopdance For Beginners DVD</a>.

Asheville hoop jam in the park
Ok, so I've had to miss all of the previous ones, and I had to miss the hoper's ball - things have been a little crazy for me what with my Mom passing away and then me spending so much time on the road between here and TN. But tonight, I finally got to go. Melanie did a great job leading the event and I had an amazing time! hoop class at MBody Studio
Well, I went to my first hoop class tonight and it was fantastic! This is something I need to remember - learning on your own is good but the energy you get from others in a class setting is invaluable. There was a lot of giggling and shrieking when someone got a new move. Good times.

I managed to learn the "float up" move and realized that oddly enough I'm a lefty instead of a righty when it comes to hooping. That's why this move is hard for me. I usually hoop clockwise and that's w... read more

I think I like the mirror tape much better than the prisma tapes or the holographic tapes. I've never seen anything glimmer like this when it moves. It's magical.
