Lets Look, Shall We

So I'm a bit ...uhhh, hammered right about now. I don't really care what I say or how anyone will interpret it when they read my words (not that anyone does anyways). . . I'm writing so I can look back on the part of me that really didn't give a shit..When usually, 98% of me does. I care WAYYYYYY too much. Which some might say is a blessing and other might frown upon as a curse... In my world, the river flows where it will and I know I can't control it. The river is bigger than my thoughts...The river controls them and ushers them to new places, faces and scenarios that I just happen to sit in the passengers seat for.

Tonight was my birthday. I went out and had a pint... (or 12) with my friends... whom I didn't expect to show up. My Fiancee and I landed at a brand spankin new bar right by our house for dinner and a pint. We're eating appetizers when all of a sudden I feel two teeny arms squeezing the life outta me... I look up and one of my very closest friends (that lives an hour away) saying hello!!! I was dazzled and so happy to see her. She's my Daniella Bella, such a close friend! And there she was, having driven more than two hours in TORNADO (midwest) weather to see me. .. Seriously folks, mark the date - Aug 23, 07 - there were more than a few Tornados to hit in my neck of the woods on this day... Go Figure... Could the weather be any more fitting?! But the moral of this story is that a friend braved this "For Shit" weather to come have a pint with me!!! Now that's a friend : ) Never woulda expected it. About an hour later, another friend comes walking through the door, who happen to live about 45 minutes away. I was dumbfounded and totally happy! I didn't need an more friends, I didn't need anything else, I was completely content and moreso... exstatic with the current situation.

I LOVE my friends. I told both of them... "If I fail to ever make it to one of your parties in the future, I'll shoot myself and you'll never have to worry about another one of my parties again!" I feel indebted to these two wonderful ladies! Gladly so. I smiled all night long. Good friends, good food, great atmosphere (irish pub) and what more could a Gal ask for?!!

That's it for now, I have nothing philisophical to write about - nothing deep and profound to say, just the deep gratitude that goes out to the people who love me who braved Tornados and ridiculously bad weather just to be with me tonight! I never thought I was loved until the last 2 years of my life and I have to say - it's a good feeling!

Many happy returns, Katrina. And don't think that because people don't always comment they don't read your words or feel interested in what you have to say.

I like to remind myself from time to time that life is always bigger than any conclusions I may come to about it.

hmmm, yeah, I parrot Muddy's comment :-)
"hammered" is great as it removes those walls we put up around our truth....so hammer away, sister and let the words fly.....

That is so awesome having friends like that surround you with love and makes you just happy to be here doesn't it???

Hope you had a wonderful day!

As a wise man once said, "Some days in life you're the hammer, and some days you're the nail." The important question then becomes: would you rather get hammered or nailed? ;)

This post makes me laugh, I just created a tribe while I was drunk, Bongs, Boobs, and Beer. Speaking of beer, have you tried 1554 from New Belguim. Its actually my fave. Goes down smooth wihout an aftertaste, and the funny thing, its an enlightened black ale. I got one left. Excuse me.

Ha, I can't say that I've had that beer before. Hasn't hit the Irish pub I bartend at just yet. Goose Island just came out with a new one that's been pretty popular called 312. I dig guiness and blue moon for those "lighter days" ; )

I was tanked when I wrote this.. Kudos to me for the type not liokin sonthinmg lijke ths. : )
