i am a professional seamstress working primarily in the area of bridal fashions. i work for a high end bridal salon doing alterations and also sometimes sew for a seattle designer, sewing up her designs. when i am not wildly busy during the wedding season, i sew some fun stuff for bellydance too. i am married, with three great kids that are all taller than i am now!

these ladies in the above youtube are performing to a song, "brooklyn beladi", that we are going to dance to in our next performance. they have an interesting choreography, i wish it had been shot a little closer, to see it better! it is quite different from our choreography. i love this song...we are supposed to perform it on saturday for the first time. i'll let you know how it goes!

we are back from a trip south in an attempt to find sun and warmth...a refuge from the cold rainy, and only days before we left, snowy weather in our area. so where did we choose? sunny san diego!
we stayed at the hard rock hotel in the gaslamp area. it was a pretty cool hotel, with lots of memorabilia and pictures of famous rock artists. here's me with the beatles!

here she is...eight hours (and six band-aids) in this one!
i love the back...
lots of handwork involved in this dress. all the trim was sewn on by hand, and all the hemming and linings were sewn by hand...by those band-aid covered hands! do you like my 'fantastic four' band-aids?! i used to have some with the actual characters, but they got used up. so we shall see if it fits today. hope

i have been working on bridal stuff again finally. i have a dress here like this one, except in white. this is a madina vadache dress from about three years ago, i think. i actually sewed both dresses, i really like this one, sort of a victorian style. this one was the first sample dress, sewed for the collection at the time. it is hard to see here, but it is kind of an irridecent fabric, pink
