Jon is an incredible prop artist and AZ is very fortunate to have him here willing to pass on his knowledge of poi! Friday, March 7 - w/Alien Jon & assistant Tricia: $40 covers both classes • 6-7:00 Fundamental forms of modern poi $20 - Covers fundamental poi concepts, exercises, and poi scales. Indispensable for the beginner, fill in holes for intermediate spinners, and give advanced spinners a chance to delve deeply into the foundation that makes all advanced moves easy to learn and flow with. • 7-8:00 Advanced Poi and technical concepts $30 - Covers an advanced model and understanding of the spin zones around the human body so that you can spin anywhere in any orientation including behind the head and back or under the legs. This also includes inside planes and inswings in between the arms all around the body. Further exploration in the body and poi relationships as time sculpture: tracing geometry through time. This yields incredible feelings and unbelievable visual effects for your audience. For the uber-advanced we can cover 'Composite' spinning: pattern construction using independent control of each hand/poi. For example advanced hybrids.
