So for those who have not heard yet...here is the big news for the day/year/life. I'm having a baby! I am so excited about this it is sort of shocking to me. oh yeah its with Anja, for those who dont know her (like my parents, haha, but they didnt think it was as funny) the girl with the positive pregnancy test is her. we are breeding an east euro/russian stock that is sturdy as a stock horse and bristly as a Bolshevik. ok questions to be answered. 1) we are not getting married, 2) home birth all the way 3) I know we have been together for 3 months 4) no i do not plan to work more, in fact i plan to work less 5) it was a surprise but not an accident much love to my family out there and I cant wait to bring up this child in the midst of all of you beautiful people ---- Big Daddy----

so its time for the annual BM rant/blog...thankfully my experience was a bit different than most b/c i have not been out there for 6 years and gud-dman-it things have changed. there was a bunch of haters there and bunch of winers and a bunch of douches. but thankfully i didnt really have to take on any of their shit, b/c that really what BM is about right, people have personal upheaval and drama and you getting to ignore it. no seriously i always find it a good practice to create the distance to support someone without it effecting my life, and it is accelerated ten fold there for sure. so first to get these things off my chest here is my most changed in 6 years list - the night has been consolidated to the esplanade and A st, WTF? - there is no art anymore...just big as spectacles (2 semi's fused together? WTF) - there is little public nudity or sex (last time i was there i was having sex during the day right by the man waving to art cars) - not nearly enough psychedelics - police are everywhere and it is weird (2001 was my last year and the 1st year of a police presence) - the night has become very impersonal - the playa is a fuckin highway of bikes at night, you have to wear a light to not get hit (i prefered to bark at people) - there is so many amazing art cars nothing is original anymore - what the fu*k is a workshop? there was none of these as i remember - people wear watches and know what time it is - BM being cynical about BM (did you read those signs coming in, or the Piss Clear?) - the man not being made of wood (how obviously was that) the good - those huge buses at night are fantastic for getting around if you dont have a bike - the yellow bikes - Center camp is still great - you can still find the right people - so much more food and coffee places - plenty of new trippy exhibits so i had an amazing time, although i see all the criticism of the event and totally agree.i took someone on their first trip, had a blast with some old friends, ran into people i wanted to see. the thing about BM that really relates to the world is that you must make it your own experience. i saw a lot of people being vampires, asking the event to make their time for them, when no thats not how things work, you might get that experience at times but it is fleeting, the only way to ensure that you get what you want is to make it yourself. so there were fuckin yahoos, i just went and fucked with them. if they look at me like i was in a zoo then i did the same. the night was the best for that. i was trippin with kourosh and i realized that everyone was having their own experience at night and that we totally had the power to intersect our journey with theirs at any moment. so i could run up to someone and start talking in jibberish to them and see if we could spontaneously make a new language or just swing them around int he air a bit, or ask them if they could find my lost nipple. so that was great. we were up all night, jousting in the streets and playing bumper frisbee down our street at 5 in the am. another special moment was playing full contact playa bike polo. wow what a rush, flying at people full speed, one hand on a croquet mallet another on the bike, nearly avoiding people and sometimes having a nice crash, it wasnt till i came home that i saw all the bruises on my legs. the camp was good and provided for a short course in communication b/c the bunch of early 20's berkeley kids were trashing the place and just not comprehending communal space and respect. it was party party to them, dinners done, drop your dishes throw on some cloths and run out at 9. (who the fuck goes out at 9). so everything smelled and was cemented with playa. it brought up an interesting idea of compassion and how does one communicate their compassion and with compassion. a rap of a ruler on the head or a kind word? to be continued i guess cause we never figured this one out. we that sort of sums things up, i did have a great sunday sunrise kiss out by the fence which was fantastic, and i was so happy this exists. once a door is opened inside it can never be closed, we are more open people for it, and im sure it is implanted in our DNA. but it is time to move on and use my time and energy in other ways..... much love to all burners

1200 Bikes Donated To Burning Man’s Yellow Bike Program posted by Scott Beale on Tuesday, August 14th, 2007 1,200 Bicycles 1,200 bicycles have been anonymously donated to Burning Man 2007 to be used for the Black Rock City yellow bike program, a public transportation system where anyone can use the bikes to travel around the playa. The Black Label Bike Club is currently assembling and painting the bikes yellow and when the project is completed, Black Rock City will have one of the highest number of bikes per capita in the world. UPDATE: Danger Ranger wrote us with an update saying that “In typical Burning Man fashion, the bikes are being painted green and stenciled with the message “YELLOW BIKE” in red paint”.

yeh, i finally have somewhere to live for me and my faithful companion! i will be out in the outer outer sunset with my friend Jana in a nice house. its been 8 weeks of searching, and i have found a huge amount of discrimination against furry felines. but the deal is done and i can now get off craigslist for (hopefully) a long long time. peace out

so im in a place where i am gonna quit one of my jobs at the end of june and knowing this has taken all my motivation out of working. on top of that it is a state job which means that no one will say shit about it. but i feel like a lump right now, not doing anything and not really wanting to. its the end of the job syndrome i get everytime i know im movin on. it might be a long 3 months...but not really these sunny days really brings the student body out and about, yummy!

so the next chapter in my story goes like this, man get hit, man falls on highway, man is nice to man who hit him and doesnt crush him, man gets call from insurance company of other driver and does not get a penny because the other driver claims they did not move lanes at all. basically he said that i ran into the back of his car and laid myself out. no witness. case closed... well its time to put this behind me three days of self pity should be enough...grrrr

and that is the group that has had an accident. this stupid old man on 80 going towards the bridge turned right into me and dumped me on the freeway, luckily during the slow time of traffic, where i did my commando roll, popped up and jumped out of the way of traffic. looks like he is totally at fault but my knee hurts and various little things are mysteriously getting sore by the minute. i am a bit pissed but woke up yesterday thinking it might be time to get in an accident and it was. anyway ill see what the insurance says, maybe ill have my bike back maybe not. either way im alive and getting to see some friends after the fact was soooo nice. well thats my story for today...watch out for old men, they're a killer
