"Who Was Jesus?" Expanded Version!
Fri, August 24, 2007 - 10:17 AM"Who Was Jesus?" Expanded Version!
"At last, I have completed the expanded, hard-copy edition of my book Who Was Jesus?, now subtitled Fingerprints of The Christ.
For a short time only, I am offering a special ebook edition of this expanded WWJ!
The new expanded "Who Was Jesus?" is over 180, 8x11 pages, more than 140 pages longer than the first edition! The target audience of WWJ is Christian, but anyone with an interest in the origins of Christianity and the quest for the historical Jesus Christ will find it to be fascinating research and reasoning - WWJ is for anyone with Christian relatives as well!
In this scientific analysis of Christianity and the life of Christ, I include comments by various Christian authorities, apologists and evangelicals such as the following:
* John Ankerberg
* Craig L. Blomberg
* F.F. Bruce
* William Lane Craig
* John Dominic Crossan
* Bart Ehrman
* Norman Geisler
* Gary Habermas
* Josh McDowell
* John P. Meier
* Bruce M. Metzger
* J.P. Moreland
* Ronald H. Nash
* Lee Strobel
* Merrill C. Tenney
* Ben Witherington
* Edwin Yamauchi
* And more!
Using the Bible itself, as well as the research of these individuals and others, I demonstrate that what you see is not what you get when it comes to Christ and Christianity.
Yes, I am asking for a donation for this book, which will be around 300 pages in the hard copy - coming soon! The hard copy will contain a foreword by Dr. Robert Price. This ebook, however, contains a short appendix called "The Indian Connection," which briefly delves into possible Indian influence on the gospel of Matthew in particular. The appendix will not be included in the hard-copy edition.
Your kind donation will help me get the book to print, to defray the costs of obtaining ISBNs and assorted other necessities. An October release date is planned, but it may be a bit longer than that.
Be sure to get your limited edition expanded version of "Who Was Jesus?" before it's no longer available as an ebook!
Please feel free to print out the ebook so you may enjoy it at your leisure!
Thanks for being a part of this exciting adventure!
* "Please feel free to leave comments here at any point, whether now or after you've read "Who Was Jesus?: Fingerprints of the Christ". I will be incorporating some reader comments on the back cover and, possibly, inside, so be sure to have your voice heard! "

"One would naturally expect that the Lord Jesus Christ would be sufficiently important to receive ample notice in the literature of his time, and that extensive biographical material would be available. He was observed by multitudes of people, and his own followers numbered into the hundreds (1 Cor. 15:6), whose witness was still living in the middle of the first century. As a matter of fact, the amount of information concerning him is comparatively meager. Aside from the four Gospels, and a few scattered allusions in the epistles, contemporary history is almost silent concerning him."
~ Merrill C. Tenney, "New Testament Survey," p. 203. Dr. Tenney is a conservative evangelical Christian who was a professor of Theological Studies and the dean of the school of Theology at Wheaton College. Tenney was also one of the original translators of the NASB and NIV editions of the Bible. "...there are very few sources for knowledge of the historical Jesus beyond the four canonical Gospels. Paul and Josephus offer little more than tidbits. Claims that later apocryphal Gospels and the Nag Hammadi material supply independent and reliable historical information about Jesus are largely fantasy. In the end, the historian is left with the difficult task of sifting through the Four Gospels for historical tradition." ~ John P. Meier, "A Marginal Jew," vol. II, 5. Dr. Meier is a Catholic University New Testament professor, ex-Catholic priest and monsignor. ; |

Hey, you're so very welcome!
I had these quotes on hand so I wanted to share them here - "The Names "Joseph" and "Jesus" were very popular in the 1st century. "Jesus" appears in at least 99 tombs and on 22 ossuaries. "Joseph" appears on 45 ossuaries.… "Mary" is the most common female name in the ancient Jewish world. " ~ Dr. Gary Habermas, Christian apologist and evangelical scholar "The Bible is a human book with human characteristics." ~ Christian apologist Josh McDowell in "The New Evidence that Demands a Verdict" ; |

Here's another quote found in "Who Was Jesus?" I liked and thought I'd share it with others here -
"The only definite account of his life and teachings is contained in the four Gospels of the New Testament, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. All other historical records of the time are silent about him. The brief mentions of Jesus in the writings of Josephus, Tacitus and Suetonius have been generally regarded as not genuine and as Christian interpolations; in Jewish writings there is no report about Jesus that has historical value. Some scholars have even gone so far as to hold that the entire Jesus story is a myth…" ~ The Universal Jewish Encyclopedia (v. 6, 83) ; |

Ancient Tablet Evidence of Jesus Myth?
Ancient Tablet Evidence of Jesus Myth?
by Acharya S aka D.M. Murdock "An ancient Hebrew tablet is creating a stir after certain scholars identified it as containing a pre-Christian account of the awaited Jewish messiah's death and resurrection after three days. If this artifact is genuine, from the era claimed, and actually says what is asserted, the discovery clearly demonstrates that the idea of a messiah, savior or divine redeemer dying and rising after three days existed decades before the alleged advent of Jesus Christ. This dying-and-resurrecting motif is one of a number that various writers and scholars have claimed demonstrate Jesus to represent not a "historical" personage but a mythical concept found in religious ideologies and mythologies long prior to the so-called Christian era."
