Music Licensing
Hey, ya'll! If you're thinking about licensing some Falik music for your project, but were worried about the pricing and legalities get yourself toYouLicense.com www.youlicense.com/ArtistDetails.aspx
They make it real easy with a one-stop-shop process. The prices are lower than other places, which is fine with me beccause their cut is less, too. That translates into you spending less and me making more, so we both win!
Thanks!
On the Charts
There's a site called SongVault.fm ( www.songvault.fm/charts/al...top_40.htm ) to which I've posted a couple of tracks, including "Caroline" from "Falik's Revenge" which is rising in their alternative charts, currently at 26. If you want to listen to some indie music this is a cool site to check out. Of course, while you're there be sure to cast a vote for "Caroline". The link above will take you right to it.Thanks!
FREE FALIK CD: "FALIK'S REVENGE"
I discovered this site yesterday: "amiestreet.com". It's a music site that I think really compensates artists fairly for their work.Their paradigm works something like this. When you sign up as an artist and post your material to sell the price of your track is driven solely by demand. That is, initially, all your tracks are free. As more people download your music the price goes up to compensate. The more people that download the higher the price. Up to limit, that is. It never goes above $0.98 cents a track. After your track accumulates $5.00 worth of downloads the artist receives 70% of the sales thereafter.
As a customer this allows for some great bargains. They actually have some nationally recognized acts on the site, like the Presidents of the United States of America, who have have some tracks below $0.98. It's worth browsing through the catalog. So, combine that with some great new music that's free, and you've got yourself a deal.
And they have this little mechanism called "rec's" which is short for recommendations. When you "rec" a track that's currently free you actually get credit for the track as it rises in price. For instance, if you recommend my track "Your Eyes" (which is free right now), you will get credited at 50% of the value for the amount it rises, up to the limit of $0.98, at which point you receive the full $0.98 as credit. You can use this credit to purchase music on the site.

The site is well laid out, and they even break out music by price, as opposed to just by popularity. This means you can search for free music, artists that are on their way up (and the price/track is like a $0.25 a track), music that's been discounted well below iTunes' $0.99 price, or tracks that have reached the full price.
Compare this to iTunes, where ALL music is $0.99 cents, regardless. Why pay more when you don't have to?
The only other fairer way to compensate an artist for downloads is to buy it directly from them. But unlike myself, not all artists are able to put shopping carts on their site, so this is a great alternative.
"Your Eyes"
I'm putting together a video for "Your Eyes" a track from my new CD "Falik's Revenge" and I thought it would be cool to see if you would like to be in it!( contact me for the track or go to amiestreet.com/artist/falik )
If you're a dancer and have some video of yourself that goes along with the track either visually or spiritually (not in time but the feeling's right) please drop me a note at:

My Burning Man 2007 Experience
I went to Burning Man in 2007. I got there on Monday in the afternoon. I left on Sunday in the afternoon. What happened between those days was something so wonderful and personal that I can't really describe it. I met old friends. I made new friends. I met myself. I reinvented myself. My physical and metaphysical experiences merged into a kaleidoscope for me to haul back to the rest of my life for further investigation. To my campmates at Terpsichore (Alexiis, Justin, Tank Girl, Flash, Tent, and of course, KTG) and all of AEZ, thank you.
What? A singing Falik?
Some of you may have noticed that the last couple of ditties that I've posted to my MySpace page have had vocals. Yes, it's true, folks. I'm starting to sing on a couple of tracks. And if not, I invite you at your earliest convenience to cruise over to my space dot com slash falik and partake of some of my newest creations!Falik MP3s Now Available for Purchase on MySpace
