Runnin' with the Devil

November 4, 2007
Tribal Bellydancers

Peacock necks hover over arched chests,
beneath serene, feminine faces that glow.

Strong arms brandish antique bracelets,
snaking to haunting Middle Eastern melodies.

Curved, bare bellies undulate softly
as nimble feet trace patterns on the floor.

Molded hips drop sharply, synchronized,
reclaiming primal, forgotten roots.

Modern women leave the Western emptiness
and forge new bonds based on ancient cultures.

I have known this sweet soul for little while in this 'verse, and the only thing that pains me is how my fist impression of her is so fuzzy. I remember something about not being able to find my rum. And I'm still sorry about your guitar. I didn't realize that stairwell was there. It looked like a wall.

Angelina is a worthy foe in an insult contest. There's something to be said for someone who dance like a gypsy, drink like a fish and cus like a sailor.

I think I've got some blog in my hair.

I've left a bunch of tribes that, while I still support, I just can't keep anymore. I've come to realize that a narrow focus on a few key matters is much better than the "scattergun" approach to life (and dance!). Simplification. Letting go of things that don't have anything to do with reality.

I think that when it comes to social networking sites, we often build up a persona of ourselves through our "interests" and "activities" that are more of a projection than we are willing to admit. ... read more

Helllooo! I am back (actually I've been back for about 2 weeks) from China and just in time for some rare Vancouver snow. Hong Kong was 30 degrees when we left...talk about a shock to the body...what the crap is that all about...

So China was A-frickin'-mazing, and I highly reccomend a visit if you're so inclined. I tried to blog a bit from there, but the connections were so sketchy that I would write out the whole thing and then as soon as I hit "post" it would crash on me. So no blog for... read more
