ANOTHER FLASH!!!! I have a performance at Cairo Festival at the Santa Anita race track..I know, you say...Belly dance at a race track? Well, believe it or not, the festival is indeed located there, I don't know, never been there (was protesting the event for a few years for including stripping events but, I digress) more on that one later. see me there on the bazaar stage at 4:15 pm on Sunday And: FESTIVAL OF DANCING COLORS It is time for one of the fun festivals I do each year. This one is held in San Bernardino. Lots of tribal bible style??? But change is indeed interesting and I have loosened up in my old age..Ha!..so I willingly accept fluffy feathers and all! The venue started out in Riverside and seems to get further away from me each year. When it gets to the California border,, I probably won't go then! See the many dancing colors at www.myspace.com/mecdaie map is here: maps.google.com/maps you will need to prepare your eyes for the "dancing colors" .web site.....take care if you have epilepsy.
My newest challenge..

This year for the first time, Market at the Casbah will have an evening show along with the daytime activities which means all day shopping, dancing on the stage by various troupes and soloists. This year there will be an evening show and I am honored to perform. I recently found some great music and have been busy getting together a new show..lot's of hard work since I have less than two weeks to prepare for it, so wish me luck! check out www.marketatthecasbah.com/ for more details on the event which takes place in Fullerton California
I danced at Catharae's party this past Saturday. She has such a beautiful stage there, usually lot's of food, but most of the people just paid the 5 entry and the food was gone in 30 minutes, so starved through the day, then on to dance at the Bombay pictured here, and got so weak someone brought me a chicken thigh. I don't know who she was, but seems to me she saved my life.

Ladies and gent dancers. Do eat before dancing and it shouldn't be sugar. I ate a cake and felt great only to drop levels of sugar in my system and get dizzy! Oy! I learned my lesson, but the day was a kicker!! lots of fun The sun before, went to this small place on some street in Long Beach. Coffee haven was the name of the place. First time I went, I wasn't feeling too safe on those streets, lots of homeless in the park a few blocks away. passing people who my friend called bohemian lifestyle folks, but got there and it's a small room windows facing the street with coffee and pastries and some sandwiches in back..Seems the dancers dress in the loft looking room above and come to the dance floor via the long staircase from there. It use to have comfy chairs and couches and a lone computer to use if you don't have one some pictures on the wall of this hunky guy that you just can't ignore, but now sports a few tables with chairs that makes more room for guests. Dancers of all levels dance in the center, and a basket is passed every once in a while and I believe is divided equally among the performers. Quaint little place but bring friends if you can. JMO
This is a collage of all the pictures I have in albums of myself in different times of my career.

I am especially happy to let all know that Little Egypt.com is flourishing with new workshops from the famous dancers of Egypt, those fabulous lucky women who get to enjoy dancing in the real scene although it is somewhat slower, the shows are parties and weddings with the likes of these ladies performing are ever available ..Let me encouraage you to go and work with Dina, Randa, Aida Nour, Lucy and Raqia with Magda el Leisy, oh what fun he is! It is a once of a lifetime experience that you should give to yourself. www.littleegypt.com/seminars.htm I hope to make one this year, and will probably go study with Randa...It's worth every penny!!! And you couldn't ask for more gracious hosts, I have worked with them on several shows. Sorry to post that Ahmed has passed away, but Dee Dee is a trouper and doing well..love to them all
