Chris is fantastic! We've really only spent one weekend together back in June 2005, but it was awesome. She is genuine and caring, sassy and unique, and I feel fortunate that we got to connect. From afar she sends me love and friendship, and I send it back!

A friend and a sage, this girl is amazing. She supports your journey, the journey we all share, with understanding, wisdom, laughter, fun, hard work by your side and a whole lot of playfulness. Chris is one of the gems I have discovered along the way who has made a positive difference in my life. Genuine and true, to know this one is to love!

about me
somewhat of a cultural shape-shifter.. sometimes I feel like I'm bridging the divide between "conventional/western" thinking (empirical reality), and all those other ways of telling the story that other cultures or perspectives have envisioned... but more often I realize I still need a lot of practice.

One of the things I'm starting to pay attention to is how "the system" is currently set up with regard to our energy infrastructure, and therefore, what needs to be changed in order for "the system" to better support (and/or in a more sane and compassionate way) whatever energy infrastructure we are going to be transferring to in the future.
Such as, which states have what kinds of incentives for making your home more energy efficient (and if you know any of this stuff, please chime in).

Just wanted to get the word out that there is a placement map out for the Element 11 (Utah Regional Burn) festival. We're going to have theme camps and elephants and truffula trees, oh MY!
Tickets are still available for $40 each, and you can buy them the easy way (on-line) at the website:
www.element11.org
you can also sign up for a theme camp, let us know if you want to bring an art project out, or book a performance slot at Center Camp through the website.
Other tidbits:
We'll...

Having trouble sleeping tonight, so I took a rare moment to surf randomly through old bookmarks..
I came across this article in Scientific American Online,
www.sciam.com/article.cfmabout how the "science" of neo-classical economics (Jargon alert! oops, too late!) was invented in the late 1800's through the application (later turned out to be mis-application) of concepts and equations of physics that were later proved to be wrong (read the article, b...

Hi All-
My friend Mark Hammond wrote a song for the American Idol songwriting contest-- the winning song will be sung by the winner of American Idol on the last night of the show, and will be recorded and released by the winner. Go to his MySpace page, www.myspace.com/mchammon, where you can listen to the song and then follow the link to songwriter.americanidol.com/ to register to vote for the song.
It's the American Dream, y'all!
Also, for Salt Lakers (SaltLickers?) Mark will...

Want to keep junk catalogs out of your mailbox? go to www.catalogchoice.org
Did you know:
* Each year, 19 billion catalogs are mailed to American consumers.
* This uses 53 million trees (between 300,000 and 500,00 acres of land cleared or thinned) and comprises 7.2 billion pounds of paper.
* Processing and transporting this paper results in 5.2 billion pounds of carbon dioxide emissions (equallingthe annual emissions of two million cars.
* And, it also requires 53 billion gallons of...

Hi Andi
I hope that you guys are able to burn, and that this event is a positive catalyst for working with "da man" in whatever form that takes in your part of the world. I think that one of the things that has worked well (at least in Ut) is th...

Re: Drive rebar into the playa!
(in Burning Man)
typo:
"1" rebar..."
I meant half-inch re-bar. You'd really have to push on 1" rebar (might be the solution, but costs a lot, weighs a lot, and will be that much more difficult to drive and remove), but 1/2" rebar I think would be easily pushe...

Re: I'm sorry but it's not good enough....Our Moderator
(in Burning Man)
I agree with you Trae-- I find that I can moderate myself by deciding whether or not to read a post, and if I read something that pisses me off, I have choices about what to do about it (ignore or respond).
But, I gotta admit, I find less and l...
